I've grown to like it  Wouldn't it be wise to find out what's causing it though, it could be serious?  I know what's the cause via the Lotus forum and since the replacement of the boost bypass hose is apparently an arse to do i can't be bothered. Tony
A dilemma..... Engine needs a service and although i could do this myself the car has a full Lotus history, shall i do it in house for £100 or pay Lotus £

I would do it myself, when it comes to selling the car the fact you've been the last owner should be worth more than a dealer stamp IMO. Tony
The Esprit has twin carbs that over fuel, partially on overrun, so she pops and bangs downhill, i think the balance is off between the carbs because the pickup has a nasty stutter before the boost cuts in. We can change the consumables but we cannot balance the carbs, plus me being a bit anal i know a full service history will add to the end sale price. Tony
Nice car Tony.......... 2.2 I take it ?  Keep looking at a GT3 on pistonheads..........   Keep polishing and get the fuel smell sorted.............  Thanks.... Yep it's the 2.2 turbo, last of the normally aspirated Jobie's, which is what i wanted because the boost and engine sound is awesome, everything sounds alive what with the suck of the induction and the warble of the boost valve.......  Invisible Touch Detailing are going to help me with the finish because as shiny as she looks i cannot get rid of the paint swirls, in truth i've learnt a lot from Christians posts and applied some of these to my detailing but he's managed to withhold the expertise information that gives the superb results he has -V- me  Regarding the fuel smell during boost, it seems to have stopped
