Tony
Seems that Ford are releasing a new Capri. I loved these cars as a kid. However I'm not sure what to make of this new version, looks a bit like a Mustang to me> http://releaseford.com/2016-ford-capri-release-date/
liner33
I'm a huge Capri fan and if its rwd (doubtful) or 4wd (possible) then it may well be on my radar My auntie posted this pic on my facebook at the weekend , me and my Capri back in 1989
SMARTLY
Interesting, I owned two Capris in my earlier days, the mk2 I think it was. First was daytona yellow and second a 2 litre ghia automatic in a metallic red with a vinyl roof.
Tony
The 2.8i was a beast in it's day......
liner33
I had 3.0l ones and a 2.8i
Tony
I've never been in the 3.0 so can't comment there, was that also injection?
Rich
I bet you don't sit on the bonnet of your cars now, think of all the swirls and RDS's! I've never been in a Capri before, they're nice looking cars too. I don't mind the look of the new one but it's got a Mustang front end and Lambo side vents. Tony
Nothing wrong with Lambo side vents ......... The old Capri's were a bit lively, leaf spring rear suspension and a live axle but give them credit they were castor adjustable which was handy to weight the steering. Rich
I worded that wrong, I meant I don't mind the look of the new one, the side vents are good

liner33
Capri side vents ! Viking
I'm unsure if a rebodied Focus could ever be classed as a Capri really. doesn't seem right to me.
Gordon
I had a white 2.8 one back in the day STILL REMEMBER THE reg C111 CNW
Tony
Why did they make the nose of the car sooooo long though? I mean you could stand in the engine bay and work on the engine there was that much room.
liner33
They got bigger engines elsewherte in the world South Africa got a 5.0 litre v8 for example
Tony
How come we didn't get that
parthiban
At first I thought it would be a weird decision when we are finally getting the Mustang - and then realised this was Focus based which means it'll be FWD and small. Seems a shame to revive the Capri name with something that'll probably be a bit of a disappointment.
liner33
I think its a non story to be honest , i did some research and its likely to be nonsense so no , no Capri in the near future
Tony
Well if it's FWD just as well it's a no show...... Talk about kill the brand
parthiban
Well if it's FWD just as well it's a no show...... Talk about kill the brand Even if it is true there's no way they could revive the old Capri given that they just brought us a RHD Mustang. I suppose they could have rebodied the Mustang and given us a new Capri but I much prefer the Mustang
Tony
Wise words....... Sometimes it's better to just remember a legend rather than clone it...
Steve-O
I'm a huge Capri fan and if its rwd (doubtful) or 4wd (possible) then it may well be on my radar My auntie posted this pic on my facebook at the weekend , me and my Capri back in 1989 Haha!
