  1. I think this is a reflection of how the market is changing. I have been watching a few videos on the US markets and where they were two months ago is where we are now ie lots of dealers with large amounts of inventory unsold and depreciating Less demand = low prices and dealers having to be very cautious
  2. Got a few lowballers shortly after listing and then it went up and up , think it was on for 4 working days
  3. Carwow called me and asked me to lower the reserve (I refused) but the car sold for way more than i expected anyhow
  4. Yep the dealers bid for it but you can accept anytime but as i said my car was parked on the drive for more than 2 weeks waiting collection and payment
  5. Yes you need to populate the listing with pictures
  6. Carwow have dealers bid on it so whilst they give you a guide price you may get more or less, I got almost £1k more on my UP! Can recommend them but they took two weeks to collect so you might be hanging around
  7. You wont get good results with snowfoam and no lance they are well worth the £15 or so If you are pushed for time then the procedure i said earlier followed by some speed gloss* applied with the lance will leave your car looking freshly waxxed and lasts for up to 3 months , you can apply it after every wash During winter when the weather is bad i sometimes just snowfoam and rinse , dont shampoo it at all *or other spray gloss https://www.envycarcare.co.uk/shop/finishing/sealants/speed-gloss-formerly-fa/
  8. I don't use a prewash just snowfoam usually Bilt Hamber , if its really bad , snowfoam leave 15 mins , rinse and snowfoam again and leave on while you shampoo
  9. Google reckons that since the hybrid Prius was not compatible with various UK city taxi licencing the sales had dropped off , we are a small market so its not worth the hassle to get approval unless decent sales are expected this is why we arent getting the GR Corolla , the new GTR, Nissan Z , the list goes on
  10. Yes mate it was https://www.envycarcare.co.uk/shop/finishing/finishing-wheels-tyres/ceramic-coatings/futureproof/ But professionally applied I bought some myself for use on my wheels and to be honest its not nice stuff , you need a proper mask , gloves and well ventilated space 18months on its still fab though https://imgur.com/NnXRu2M I can recommend the TAC stuff for doing at home though , its not as good but much easier to work with and very forgiving The All in one polish is one of the best I have used and you can top it off with the Moonlight to give a long lasting ceramic coating https://www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/tac-system-1?page=2
  11. That's a shame the new one looks fab, guessing it just didn't sell
  12. Back to the 1.8 then ? Looks nice , not tempted by the new Prius , I think that looks awesome
  13. Salt air hasnt got a good rep not sure whether the moisture in the car will result in a salty environment but like Adam I would use dessicant bags and or ACF 50
  14. Our 2015 Prius that we traded in late 2019 with 34,000 miles has put another 100k on in three years !
  15. Very impressed with the difference , there was the usual thicker anti roll bar along with further bracing along the lower arm . Worthwhile imo , not that its going to handle like a sports car but a little less body roll is a good thing Had the aircon regassed yesterday it needs the newer stuff that's twice the price so £95 but it was done on the drive
  16. Well worked out a few things , I think they make a little less power than in other markets as they are mapped to run on 95 octane (But i always use super anyhow) Done a few things , ie replaced the interior bulbs with leds , fitted LED's to the DRL , fitted a set of mudflaps , replaced the horn with a pair of high rated ones and fitted a Whiteline roll bar kit and finished the service, (oil/filter. air filter and pollen filter )
  17. They aren't as laden with precious metals nowadays , modern cats arent worth anything like some of the ones from the early 2000's are
  18. Probably wouldn't make a lot of difference to the day to day mpg, apparently they run 21psi of boost standard and the guy I watched over in Aus reckons that's as much as he recommends but you can get 300hp and 330ft lbs from a map and downpipe but that's the limit of the gearbox as well, I need to do more research as some of the options that they use in North America aren't compatible here for some reason
  19. No idea about the cat theft , they have two and one is before the turbo (Never heard of that before) and a sod to remove and the other is right after the turbo at the front of the car and also not easy
  20. Yeah the UP GTI is a great little car. well not that little as its pretty similar to a mk1 Golf , the idea was to make a new Golf GTI harkening back to the original The Forester isn't going to be great on fuel for sure but I don't do loads of miles around 3k a year so its not a major concern, its a similar engine to the GT86/BRZ as in a FA20 but turbocharged , its currently fitted to the WRX I don't think anything else, its currently averaging 31mpg on Tesco 99
  21. Just bought this to replace my VW UP! GTI, realised I didn't do a thread for this car so briefly , fantastic fun cars, 115hp pocket rocket, has been a great daily but we are taking our Labrador (Which we didn't have when I bought the car) out much more often and its just not suitable, as a recent trip to Devon proved, mind you fully loaded with a roof box it averaged 56mpg at a steady 70mph and i have averaged 45mpg during the time I have owned it, and every drive made me smile , well recommended So the outgoing UP The Lab So car shopping consisted of finding something very practical that wouldn't get ruined by the dog and that was still a little fun for me on my own, the list consisted of mostly estates but I settled on either a Passat estate or the Forester , after checking both out in the flesh I decided I wanted the XT Finding a good one wasn't easy, I checked out two scruffy ones before this, they are a rareish car and many were either too far away from me or too many miles, but found this 2015 one 2 hours away with just 6800miles , was told it was bought by an elderly lady who sadly developed cancer and died , it was left to her nurse who sold it (when the fuel price went mad probably) So here we are , its been parked outside so needs a good detail and the tyres date from wk23 2015 and are perished to all hell so have some Mich Cross Climates going on Thursday Just for those that dont know about these they have the 2.0 boxer engine currently fitted to the WRX and develop about 240hp in the UK but are detuned from the WRX and other markets 250hp, suffice to say its nippy and fairly sporty for what it is Its coupled to a interesting CVT , in normal driving its behaves like a convention CVT and is seamless but in S mode the transmission behaves like a 6 speed conventional auto with defined shifts , in Sports # (# = Sharp) it behaves like a 8 speed, it has a manual mode as well Will add some better pics once i have detailed it , but the hosepipe ban means its just too much like hard work with watering cans
  22. The standard Lexus infotainment is poor , much better than the Gen3 Prius we had but still very poor something the Japanese in general haven't kept pace with , no touchscreen and the weird pad to use to navigate the screen, but once you add Car Play its fine , you still need to use the touchpad but you can also use Siri Driving the 2022 version as a loaner I was disappointed to see its still the same infotainment The Mark Levinson sound is way better than my BMW though
  23. Thought I'd update this as the 3rd anniversary is approaching and the car has first had its first mot Currently on about 24500 miles , its had its three annual services and nothing has gone wrong, its long term average mpg is 49mpg on E10 , running it on super makes no difference really. We did have to pay to have Apple Car play added as a software update (£80) and I bought an adapter (Another £80) which adds wireless carplay which is awesome We have just fitted two new front tyres at 24.5k they were down to around 3mm but a minor rotational noise from the front offside wheel disappeared on fitting them so perhaps they wear strangely on these over time, i know some cars do on the rear Inspection showed the brake pads still at 9mm so don't imagine doing them for a couple of years I had a brand new one as a loan car and although a few bits have been changed I cant see much actual improvement so expecting to keep this another three years, in fact we have just taken a new service plan out which was £1200 and covers two major and one minor service, seems to make sense with inflation running as high as it is
