I had a dyno sheet when i bought the car which claimed 300hp at the hubs but it had been mapped badly and the boost was awful, the blow off valve was leaking and the tuner had maxxed the boost up to compensate , when i changed the BOV the boost hit 2 bar so first remap was required

Dyno graphs

Boost was all over the place resulting in low torque and jerky power delivery

Next graph shows a slight remap done by me and a boost controller fitted, much smoother

The aim was to make the boost a little more stable and to get the turbo to spool up quicker which has resulted in a big improvement at 3500-4000rpm

Torque is now better than I hoped and results are about right for a Evo 6 of this spec, next step would be cams and headwork which might yield another 20-30hp but may well sacrifice torque a little

What sort of MPG do you get out of these and I'm assuming it's run on VPower etc?

24-26mpg average over a tank usually always Vpower

Small tank though I set the trip meter as the gauge is hopeless and refill at 160 miles would possibly get 200-220 miles between fills at a push

As for not driving it 5000miles its almost twice what i did in my Skyline each year i did 9000miles in 3.5 years in that!!

That's pretty good, more than I thought they do...what size tank do they have?

Dunno for sure i've read anywhere from 8-11 gallons or 40-50 litres

Most people refill at around the 160 mile point , used to get 200miles between fills on the Skyline that was slightly better on fuel probably due to the longer gearing

Are all Jap fuel tanks that small cos the one on the Legacy is around the same size from what I've found out and the Impreza about the same? Considering you don't get many miles out of a tank it would save filling up so often wouldn't it. Maybe they're small to keep the weight down?

yeah or every 4500miles but only takes an hour or so and easy to DIY. The AYC anti yaw control needs the oil changed every 9000 miles which needs specialist tool so garage job but no biggie

Got a few jobs on the go , little things that all add up .

I removed some parts from the engine bay and repainted them

Converted the turbo elbow from bolts to studs as it wasnt sealing well (Not as easy as it sounds)

Refitted the downpipe as it rattled on the body

Refitted the front crossbrace as it rattled on the downpipe

Painted the intercooler

Fitted some new pipework for the intake

Fitted an Innovate LC1 wideband and did the wiring for the gauge (bought a 60mm gauge but dont like it so will get a 52mm one )

Fitted some later seats ,these have been custom trimmed in leather and alacantara and have heaters in them so more wiring to do if i want a warm bum
