Tony
I know it's a week away but it's a lot of work detailing the Lotus which i normally break down into weekly sections... Week 1: Wash/ Shammy/ polish/ glass/ Hoover/ Plastic Week 2: Wash/ Shammy/ polish/ Gloss/ leather/ Dash This weekend i want to do it all and next Fri/ Sat top it off ready for the meet. I started yesterday by doing the leather.... Being a Turtle product i expected better but for now it'll have to do. My main mission today is the paint, as you can see this will be a challange... To be continued.......

liner33
Yes a decent drying towel for drying , using a chamois is a very good way to introduce swirls and scratches Halfords usually stock the meguirs waffle weave ones which are ok but a nice plush towel is essential washing kit imo
Rich
Megs water magnets go very hard after a while so plush MF towels are much better. Tony by using off the shelf products you really are limiting yourself as there is a huge number of products you can choose from online. I would recommend putting an order in with one of them, you won't be disappointed. The car is looking great though and a credit to you, I will post up a detail/clean I did over the weekend later. Rich
Shall i move this thread to the fail thread :blush02: Why have you failed? You just need to open the doors to the vast range of products that are available...most off the shelf products don't cut the mustard IMO. You can get much better for the same amount of money or just a couple of quid more...get that shopping list started
Tony
Dunno..... Just seem like everything i do is "worst ever".....

Rich
Dunno..... Just seem like everything i do is "worst ever"..... No one has said that, the car is looking great, especially for it's age. I was just saying don't limit yourself to off the shelf products when there is alot more available :blush02:
liner33
You are doing well Tony car looks fab but truth is some products not sold in shops give better results for a lot less effort , thats not saying you cant get decent results with off the shelf stuff though
