CIH
Living with your mam 'n' dad and having an awesome motor always seemed a bit wrong to me though you're correct in thinking I could use the time to save up some wedge. Especially as I'll be 28 in a matter of weeks. I was looking at the hunter report I have for my s12 and noticed the OEM target was toe-out rear and positive camber front. Presumeably if I go for a more modern Toe-in rear and negative camber front it would be unnatural for the car. Meh, I'm starting to think getting the S12 was a mistake. I suppose you saw this coming Mr Bones ?
CIH
ah screw it I'll just get some EZ style bolts and chuck in -40 front camber and see how it responds. Also, finally arranged to get my boot lid sorted and the Yank "6 pack" tail lights today
Tony
Drop the cambers -40 with +30' per side toe in and see how this transforms the car
CIH
Presumeably they went for toe-out rear to counter the lazy steering inherent with positive front camber huh ?
Tony
Presumeably they went for toe-out rear to counter the lazy steering inherent with positive front camber huh ? Not sure to tell the truth.... more like tendencies or transition under squat.
Rich
Living with your mam 'n' dad and having an awesome motor always seemed a bit wrong to me though you're correct in thinking I could use the time to save up some wedge. Especially as I'll be 28 in a matter of weeks. My bro at one point had a 106 gti, Renault 9 turbo and an Escort XR3i...wonders why he's skint! Pug was sold a while ago and he's going to sell the escort and get another turbo'd motor. I never had motors like that when I lived at home but wish I had cos I can't afford them now! CIH
TBh I'm getting bored messing about with sheddy old cars too. I need to get about £3-4k saved up and get something really nice and stick with it. Won't happen for a while ofcourse, the way things are. What with people selling cars cheap at the moment you could get a bargain for something you really want...anything you fancy?
CIH
Yes! I pretty much grew-up with Gran Turismo so either an S13, S14 or S14a Silvia/200SX. JDM yo. Even these are getting one for, at minimum, 10yrs old. And they rust.

Tony
Looks the muts ..... have you got the clusters as well or can you use the existing ones?
CIH
tbh I'm not so sure about them now I've got 'em but I'll try them when I get the spoiler on. Looks the muts ..... have you got the clusters as well or can you use the existing ones? You mean the frame that holds the bulbs 'n' what not ? It's slightly diffferent, which may make adapting a housing for the reverse light tricky. I've got some spare UK lights on the car now so I can hopefully make up some kind of hybrid. May be easier to adapt a generic foglight and mount it on the backbumper and use that instead though. Not sure yet. Swapped with a US S12 club member, ER. Seems the Americans are quite keen on Mk2 uk light clusters.
CIH
Yay, handbrake cable went today no fuss at all. Just as well as I parked on a hill prior, went to start it by popping out of reverse and didn't notice the car rolling forward. Nearly hit work's bin lol. Starting to fell the love for my S12 again, now I'm finally making some progress. Got my name down for a local show in May. Hope I've the boot spoiler in place by then
Tony
Good stuff.... where's the show, any links?
CIH
I doubt there's any weblinks. It's one of a number of traditional car shows in the cheshire area. Like Tatton Park (as in Tatton Flower show), they have all kinds of car and non-car shows through most of the year. Funny little exchange on RetroRides, whose stand the S12 will grace; Do they still have that dude on the loud speaker ? Ah yes, old Mr Popular. He was there last time but don't let that put you off! Classic moment from last year.. Dude on speaker - 'Please can we have all the 1970s cars into the arena' 5 mins later - no cars.. Dude on speaker - 'Cmon , where are you all ?' 5 mins later - 2 cars.. Dude on speaker ( getting V. irate now) - 'Oh cmon ! GET INTO THE ARENA !!!' 5mins later - 3 cars.. Dude on speaker - 'If you don't bring your cars into the arena , there's no point me being here and I might as well go home !!!!!!' Everybody within a three mile radius - 'HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
