Tony
We have the car in our possession for a week to evolve some new calibration positions.... If you have been paying attention in wim you may know what area we are addressing, if your not paying attention would you like to know what area and why? Tony
Caster adjusters I think? Â Indeed..... You are attentive aren't you!.... We want to stop this> Â Inner wheel lifting, corner on...... Sadly if successful actual data will not be released but the evolution will

aztecbandit1
And you'd think with the weight of Bazza in the car it wouldnt lift  Tony has it still got no body roll at all as you found out at your open day?  Got to give Barrie credit though its one very quick little motor which suprised me with the power it has for the size of the engine, Very impressed with all the work he's done even the pink engine cover

Bazza
"BAZZA" your bottle of Carbon Dioxide is empty   stop bloody sniffing it then not only do i have to supply the tools, you want them to work as well !!  any problems in picking one up ?? i use machine mart, but i imagine they are pretty universal

I needed to get one for our impending mig anyway.... Actually we started your project today by extending the castor adjuster sleve.  A basic test but it looks like we can gain at least a degree of castor from this

Looks good though with a gains..... And before anyone mimmicks this we have added some shims as well, so the image is not the complete picture
Mat
.. Actually we started your project today by extending the castor adjuster sleve. wow, a simple and effective solution...which Brains thought of that...... Â will be interesting to see how much of the wheel lift you can eliminate
scorps
My bet it was Tony Barber or team WIM
Tony
It was me ..... Tiss a custom "anti lift kit" for the rocket. Â Currently the inner wheels caster gain is next to nothing (corner on).... It looks like we can gain 1.30 static and around 3 degrees dynamic. Â The castor sweep now elevated can allow more front camber since the toe-out-on-turns will work more effectively... My only concern is the additional over-steer and how far to push this? Â I want to, and will shim the rear camber but i also need to shim the caliper, this won't happen on this visit and since i don't drive the car i need Bazzas feedback before i advance the front to far. scorps
Whos a clever chappie  All this (whilst theoretical) is useless till Bazza gets it back on the track then
Tony
Whos a clever chappie  All this (whilst theoretical) is useless till Bazza gets it back on the track then  It means nothing until the driver validates it  The complaint, my modification and my modified car software says this is the correct thing to do but i'm not the driver, nor will i ever be.  Bazza is very good at communicating his needs and i'm reasonably good at understanding them, so i feel this modification (although simple) will benefit the rocket.  If we are wrong the castor can be re-set in 10 min..... I have an image of the chassis before the modification and Tuesday i will have an image of the results.  My only concern is how fast she will turn now corner in..... Transition should be fine, it's the inertia "lift off" that worries me.  Anyhoo no development happens instantly..... Over time the unique calibration will be established "BUT" track approval costs money so i have to preserve Bazza's track time to productive not approval experience.  It's not easy is it!!..... Good thing the centre has a large car park
scorps
Can the modification be marked so when Bazz is at a certain track he can pull down the knowledge hes gained to suit tracks or once done its a fit all type mod?

I can mark the (gain/loss) points on the adjuster but any movement changes the toe so Bazza wouldn't be better off.

Plus we will do a body audit, anything more will be to much for you to express.

She will be back on the rig Tues so we can finalize the castor, camber, toe, wheel base, body position, panhard setting.  Other than that it's all done
