  1. Put my 18" alloys on the Lexus is200 on Saturday, and now the thing feels like it has very light steering, slight vibration at around 70mph, and very unstable above that? The oem alloys had 225/45/17 on the front, and 235/45/17 on the rear and felt very well planted when driving? now its fitted with 225/40/18 tyres and its horrible? The spigot rings that were on the were too big (73.1 - 65.1) so fitted some new ones today 73.1 - 60.1mm (Lexus size 60.1) which has helped a little but still feeling very disconnected at speed above 50mph? Have had a little search about the site for similar problems and a few i've come across have mentioned the balancing of the wheels? would this cause this type of problem? the old wheels were standard lexus alloys with an offset of 50, and the new alloys are a 42? offset.. Any help would be great as its quite annoying and feels quite unsafe to drive? Thanks
  2. Yeh it was just one of those things, i know better this time around
  3. Looked a bit like this after the battery bar hook snapped off and earthed out on the stainless battery cover? It did look like this... So a big no no on the the battery cover this time around
  4. Thanks mate The battery is staying just the way it is this time round
  5. Well at least you know how to fit all the mods now, should take half the time this time around! Wheel centres should look good in that colour or what about the edge of the rim? What benefit is there from an uprated fuel pump? Quite like having the chrome rims on the wheels, just not sure on the centre's as there dark grey/anthracite colour? think the gold /bronze will suit the car better with it being that sort of colour anyway? My fuel pump is pretty old and tired now and the price of a standard pump is about the same as a Walbro 255lph pump so may as well upgrade it while i'm doing it? plus i'm thinking of going for bigger injectors, AEM fic ecu to control the fuelling with a bigger supercharger pully, plus a few other bits to see if i can up the power a bit
  6. Cheers matey, just waiting on a new set of spigot rings to take up the gap on the hubs, and then i'll have to get it booked in for the geo
  7. Removed nearly all the mods when i sold it mate, so i'm trying to find a few parts again? Going to change it quite a bit this time, The engine bay is going to change over the next few months as i want it nice and tidy this time, and might go for a different skirt kit/bumpers? upgrade the brakes, suspension, fuel pump, and i might have the wheel centres done in gold/bronze as i think they will go better with the colour of the car?
  8. Thanks mate, was going to start again, but with the amount of cars i seem to get through? i thought it was funny to add it to the list Just bought a Nissan Note 1.6 sve too Got so much to do to it again, hopefully get a set of coilovers soon so i can sort out the height and handling again, I don't rate the Koni Shocks and springs that are fitted at the moment, they were great on my old Fords, but just don't seem to suit the lex? Want to change the exhaust too, the Blueflame it has fitted at the moment is a bit too quiet for me, so trying to find another Veilside Titanium one like i had before? Better go and update my profile again
  9. Think its time i updated this again Well the Celica came and went and now i own my old Lexus IS200 again, started to add a few mods since i got it back, 1 being the supercharger again, actually fitted it at the WIM meet we had a while back, Pretty much how it was when i picked it up, Supercharger fitted again.. Rocker cover and HKS bov i polished... Before and after pic.... New suspension that's now fitted.... HKS Boost Gauge fitted... Started to add a few shiny bits... Bonnet still needs respraying..but added the TRD front lip... Engine covers added again, Apexi intake added with heat shield... New wheels fitted this weekend... Needs a really good clean again now, will have to get it booked in for a geo again too as its not planted like it used to be? But its good to be back in a lex .
  10. A few of mine from a recent trip to Wales..
  11. Some of those are just amazing to watch, the jump out of the helium balloon at number 1 is just fascinating
  12. Quite clever those, but on the video it says it didn't damage the wheel? but at about 45 seconds into the video, the curb catches the spoke of the wheel and marks it
  13. Great meet but felt a bit of an odd one out in the Celica Need another Skyline asap me thinks
  14. Nice classic bit of motoring that matey, looks in pretty good condition from the pics
  15. Think me and ER need to do a detailing day The Celica was very cheap compared to a few i've seen, was originally after a Starlet GT or another IS200 but this came up at the right price and condition, its got full service history and had very little use in the last 6 years looking at the old MOT's i had with the car, Going to give it a really good clean this week so i can bring out the colour and make it look like glass, the i'll do the engine bay and get it looking very clean again Hopefully having a new clutch fitted to it this week too, can feel a bit of slip now and again so ordered a new kit for £58 so it should drive very well when done, quite surprised at how well it handles as standard, but think it could do with a tweak to sharpen it up a little, so will be popping down to the guys at WIM asap to get it checked out
  16. Hopefully Saturday, did you clock the number plate Yes mate i did clock the plate, think it must of been fate that you got this one so when would you like it polished and the engine bay done
  17. Cheers guys, yeh i really didn't want to sell the Skyline but had to be done  Not a bad little motor though the Celica, just very slow and still got to give it a good polish yet but not bad for £1500 @Tony if you want me to pop down and give the Lotus a bit of a clean give me a shout mate, as long as there is plenty of coffee i'd quite enjoy it
  18. Fantastic car Tony, got to be one of my favourite motors and always loved the shape of them So Mr Bond (007) when do you pick it up or have you already? (jumped a few posts so might of missed it )
  19. Bit of an update Made quite a few changes to the car since my last post on it?? its now gone from this To this... Took ages to change the shape and colour, fitting the Toyota badges was a very hard decision to make, but had to be done? Just couldn't afford to keep running the Skyline so have had to down size for a bit? The Skyline on full boost was doing around 8mpg and the Celica does around 37mpg so a bit better But so slow compared to the Skyline The Skyline is now living in Bremen (Germany) with its new owner, who says he cant believe the power and how it handles and is very happy with the car Very sad to see it go , but made sense with the current climate and me still not working, but will have another one day as there just an amazing car to drive and own Now on with the mods and polishing
  20. Thankyou for your valued support Tony/WIM We've been spreading the WIM word mate, and look forward to seeing you all soon :tongue2:
  21. Sometimes lasts around 7-10 days, found the best thing to do is spray it in the car at night with a good blast, and lock the car up till the next day or when you need to use it again, Seems to deodorise if you leave it over night and lasts longer
  22. Wrong! I got the cool AS rep had no change and talked me into buying one, they did seem popular though. I've never used an aerosol that 'blasts' like these do! He sprayed the bubblegum for me first and I nearly I don't think it's very popular! there like a mini fire extinguisher when you use them first time i used it i nearly dropped the can
  23. You got a can of Blast love that stuff did you get the berry or the ice?
  24. Why don't jobs like this come up where i am, lucky man indeed Welcome to the WIM way of life
