liner33
That's a mk1 Orion isn't it? My mum had a mk1 and 2 as company cars , used to borrow it and hoon around , was nippy in its day
Sagitar
My daughter had one as a company car and I thought it looked pretty awful. It was an Escort with a boot shaped box glued on the back wasn't it?
Rich
Yes I'm getting mixed up with the Escort as that shape was the MK3 so Orion MK1. MK4 Escort was the MK2 Orion. Used to see loads when I lived in Essex and had my Escort 10+ years ago.

andyelcomb
Get it wrong at the lydenn down hill right hander she will be a mere memory and another dent in the railway sleepers on the bend.... Railway sleepers? Might be some beyond the gravel and tyres now, but in my day (early 80s) the chalk bank came right to the edge of the track on the exit of Paddock Bend... No roll cage and just a simple 3 point harness and helmet. No damage to me and in fact the laminated windscreen came out in one piece and went on to be fitted to two further Mk1 Triumph 2000s which were raced and rallied in the '80s. andyelcomb
That's going to smart a bit!! Nah, was young and flexible and just had a bit of minor bruising on my shoulders. Had to climb out of the windscreen aperture as the roof was rolled down over the tops of the doors so they wouldn't open. Was going really well up to that point...
