liner33
Hopefully the end of a busy old time for me the last of our cars to be spring cleaned. Had to give the leather a good clean as well on this one . Technically this is my car but my wife has seconded it so i barely get a look in now but the truth is i prefer her old Octavia VRS anyway Its a Skoda Superb Mk2 170hp TDI (Elegance spec) hence the leather etc , as well as the pretty good standard spec we also added a premium sound system , park assist , and heated rear seats , its just coming up to its 3rd service at 30k. It has a tough life on the daily commute and is parked next to the railway so contamination and rail dust is a problem No before shots i'm afraid i was a bit pushed for time and this was a big job the car needed a good polish so had to get out the porter cable So Rinsed Snow foamed Wheels cleaned with Espuma revolution Rinsed again Washed with Megs Gold Class and 2bm Rinsed again Bladed off and left to dry Into the garage then Clayed with Sonus blue Dodo juice lime prime applied with the porter cable and lake pad Wiped down with Megs last touch Blackfire gloss enchancer polish applied by hand Sealed with Optiseal (2 coats) Interior Windows cleaned with Brillant glass cleaner and then treated with optiseal Vacced out Seats cleaned with Zaino z9 leather cleaner and treated with z10 Trim wiped over with APC them treated with 303 protectant (same under the bonnet) Time taken 8 hours , i'm cream crackerd, I know i havent dressed the tyres but i think it will rain any minute so i'll do them again
Rich
What a shine for a dull cloudy day, I love optiseal! Surprised you used that considering you don't like the finish it gives.

Didnt have time to wax it to be honest , i much prefer the finish wax gives its certainly duller with the optiseal on that it was just with the polish
parthiban
Nice job, never seen inside a Superb, they actually look quite nice! Are they essentially a Passat or bigger than that?
liner33
Nice job, never seen inside a Superb, they actually look quite nice! Are they essentially a Passat or bigger than that? Bigger inside than a Passat more leg room than a Merc S class , based on the Golf chassis like the Octavia but obviously share a lot of parts with the rest of the VAG group
Tony
Wow, that's a fantastic job and on a black car

scorps
Thats true but the effort to get it looking/keeping nice n shiny is so time consuming
liner33
I'll be doing it again in August/September all it will get in the meantime is washed hoovered and a quick squirt with a quick detailer
scorps
Looking at your surroundings it cant get that dirty as there's no passing traffic, it just needs a flick over with a duster
parthiban
So the back is a saloon or a hatchback? That's seriously awesome
scorps
It is very clever, i do like the VRS. I know thats not one.
Rich
That boot is cool, so I'm assuming as it can open like a hatch you could take the parcel shelf out and fold the rear seats down to make more space?
liner33
Looking at your surroundings it cant get that dirty as there's no passing traffic, it just needs a flick over with a duster No passing traffic:):) , just look at my Octy which i detailed last week , barely driven it since then as i have been using the Evo its only done 30 miles or so, the Superb does 75miles a day and is parked next to a railway line , it will be filthy by next weekend Essex Racer Yes the seats fold down but not flat, the bottom seat squab doesnt move , you can lift the shelf out as well
Tony
I agree with scorps, time is an issue to evolve that level of detailing.... Be a while before my red sees water again
Rich
Thats true but the effort to get it looking/keeping nice n shiny is so time consuming I agree with scorps, time is an issue to evolve that level of detailing.... Be a while before my red sees water again I have to disagree, once the initial preparation is done the car will still be reasonably shiny even when dirty. Using ONR a quick wash can be done in 30 minutes, wash a panel, dry it and move to the next. The wheels I do every 2nd or 3rd wash.
liner33
Same here a quick wash and going over with q/d takes me 20-30mins and the car will look good for months. The last time i did a detail like this on the superb was last august prior to going to France on holiday , the car has done 10,000 miles since If the car is well protected the dirt etc wont stick as much making it easier to clean.
scorps
Will you speak english!!.... no wonder the youth of today are like they are what is ONR, by the time i figure it out i could of washed my truck Oh look liner33 is playing the same game............QD what does that mean. lol (laugh out loud) i know that one!! Wash a panel at a time? i just blast the hose over it in one fell swoop, much easier
liner33
Since i had already mentioned my wash procedure in post 13 I felt I could abbreviate Quick detailer ONR is Optimum No rinse , essentially a product you dont need to rinse off , just wipe the panel down and dry it , I use it at shows but ime it causes marring so i dont make a habit out of it
Sagitar
Will you speak english!!.... . . . . one fell swoop, much easier Not just English, but Shakespearian literary English - Macduff: He has no children.—All my pretty ones?
