Tony
Simple fix... In a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst, this is a one
Rich
I've had worse repaired, wonder why they said it couldn't be?
Tony
Lack of experience, or simply want to sell a new wheel.
SHAHZ
Lack of experience, or simply want to sell a new wheel. I go with the latter!
parthiban
The wheel that Tony repaired for me was worse than that I think.
scorps
I dont think the wheel co was trying to sell her a wheel for them to replace but she was advised to go to Toyota to get a new one...WTF unless im missing something else thats wrong with the wheel! to me it just looks like the rim is bent and has broken the bead for the tyre and thats why it wont stay inflated. What if the wheel has had more damage to it that the eye cant see, say if its warped slightly! could that happen? Anyhow were leaving the wheel at WIM on Saturday for Tonys people to work their magic. Kettle on around 10ish M8 Right more info: Apparently there was a label attatched to the wheel which said "Bad Twst"....could it still be repaired? Tony
10am kettle on..... A twist suggest a buckle, i've not seen a buckled alloy in years, so i don't think so.
scorps
Result dropped the wheel off at WIM and Tony said the wheel guy was in on Monday so hung around had a chat and the wheel man turned up unexpectedly so he did the wheel there and then...top service
liner33
Some refurb places wont repair wheels due to franchise restrictions.
Tony
Some refurb places wont repair wheels due to franchise restrictions. What, as in unable due to equipment?
scorps
It proved to me that the original refurb company were clearly not up to the std's or experience of the company WIM uses and its not as though they were treading on each others toes as there was about 50 miles between them, it proved a challenge and was obviously up to the mark.........work is work all said and done. Tony
I think the real challenge with your wheel was the fact it was buckled as well as flat spotted. Buckling an alloy is very rare, in fact i can't remember the last time i saw one.
