Tony
Very happy to say Auto Express has chosen us to set the suspension and geometry calibration on their Mazda MX5 track car It's a privilege and a testament to our guys historical excellence in my absence that we are still a guiding light in our field Interview/ calibration is today@ 5pm 9th May and anyone is welcome to attend. Auto Express are going to put the meet on Youtube if your not able to be there and i'm going to the centre to offer technical support "verbally" to AE while the team do what they do best. Oh and i'll get some pictures too

Tony
Did you have a bad day then mate?........ AE are going to let us know once the article and the Online version are finished. The idea for AE is a section called "beat the Boxter for less than 5k" meaning their MX5 has a total budget of 5k including the car and needs to beat a Boxter on track to win. parthiban
Will be interesting to see if they can make that happen, would have thought it'd be too far down on power but they obviously must think it's achievable
Tony
The 5 is supercharged and still under the 5k
hms
Ooooh Tony, I didn't realise it was open, otherwise I would have stayed! MX5, supercharged, now where have I seen one of them! H
Tony
The rest of the car was unremarkable other than the coilovers.
Steve-O
Wow only just saw this. Great that AE chose WIM! When the videos up would love to see it. Might even buy the mag if its got more in it? Always like to see the '5 triumph over other cars
Tony
Agreed i'm really pleased for the teams efforts that made AE choose us. Joe did a stunning job setting the coilovers correctly and then the geometry calibration. I was only there to offer AE technical support while the work was being carried out. In truth they was asking a little to much from the car.... The guy that bought it in wants to do some drift days but the project intended for the car is short track competition, well you can't have both in one calibration. I spoke to the race driver on the phone in order to establish what sort of driver he is? Reads a bit odd but the hardest thing to calibrate is the human. Short track needs a loose/ fast reaction but requires a lot of driver impute so by conversation we agreed a full short track set-up...... Worrying part for me was the guy who bought the car down wasn't an experienced short track driver so i had to warn him several times about how the car is going to handle on the road. Saying that i must explain we DO NOT set any road going cars to a dangerous calibration but the human driving it is a concern.

Tony
No still nothing..... Thing is the car was a £2000 project to get cheap/ free mods in order to become a track car, so maybe it's still work in progress?
Rich
Why don't you ask them?
Tony
Because they said we would be sent a proof once the car is complete.
Rich
Why not send a friendly email asking when it might be done?
