Any pictures of the interior since janey has been let loose stripping it ......what interior i will stick a few up tonight, door cards are about the only things left, but a lot of head scratching is needed to work out where the electrics will end up soon, just finished a oil change on the zaf ......got to treat it occaisonly Oooh. So now your car is an ideal candidate for corner weighting... You have adjustable coils and track requirements..... Oh and she has her knickers off. Bazza Posted June 21, 2007 Author Report Share Posted June 21, 2007 Looks like it's getting serious now Barrie Is it going to be ready for Germany tomorrow? i hope so new front discs fitted, new front pads fitted and all bedded in i decided to fit the hks water temp meter on sunday, the original sender position was a different size so had to remove the pipework, drill out and re-tap the hole to suit, whilst doing this i noticed the screamer pipe had developed a crack on the flange, so that came off and got re-welded so ...i hope its all ready, but i have stopped looking for anything else now :closedeyes: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bazza Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 13, 2007 latest news !!! one engine crocked even later news new engine nearly ready to go in managed to get hold of a low mileage engine (29k) giving it a clean and tidy up currently, and it will be ready to go in anytime soon need to get the lexus out of the garage first plan is to investigate the old engine, (thoughts at the moment is piston 3 has given up !) then start on rebuilding it decision was made to replace it with another, which leaves more time to carry out the rebuild and save my pocket money up, plan is that i am going to try and do as much of the work myself, and hopefully enjoy doing it at the same time and in the meantime the car can still be used Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bazza Posted September 22, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 22, 2007 well the new engine has had a clean and polish everything that could be taken off and be cleaned, has been awaiting a few gaskets and water pump then it will be ready for going in in progress pics : *the clean up begins *and keeps going * *Cam cover with pearlescent paint * *Insulator fitted between head and manifold (made by my own hands ) *hopefully next pics will be of it fitted still awaiting news on the turbo, the supplier has taken it back for assessment !! Bazza Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Share Posted January 4, 2008 latest update on the starlet ! progress as been very slow lately, having had an operation on my right hand 4 weeks ago and still not having full use of it, doesnt help perhaps this lightening lark went a bit too far with entry into the toyota sprint series now confirmed thought it best to do things right, the engine is now out and being fully rebuilt all forged and strengthened with lots of new goodys and i will still have a spare standard engine for emergencys and in turn for a bit of advertising, the labour costs involved have been reduced Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
