Rich
What do we make of this compared to stacking them on top of eachother, worth getting or not? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tyre-Rim-Stand-Tree-Holder-Wheel-upto-225-Rack-Storage-Garage-Car-Mechanic-NEW-/261120839512?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item3ccc03cf58&clk_rvr_id=411056467339&afsrc=
Tony
I don't have an issue stacking them but that at least keeps them off the floor.
Rich
Why don't you like them in the floor?
Tony
Cold/ damp and pressure of the other wheels/ tyres on it.
Rich
Warm in my cupboard so that should be ok but I am abit concerned about the weight although the winter tyres I've just put on the Civic seem to be ok. I dropped the pressures to 5psi as well.
Tony
That's about as good as it gets mate.
SMARTLY
Why do you need to drop the pressures?
Rich
Tony advised it. I'd imagine so they're not under pressure while not in use.
Tony
Industry advises to drop the pressure to allow the structure to relax.
SMARTLY
OK - thanks Tony. That's what I'll do then when I've washed and waxed mine and I put them away for the winter.
Rich
Looking at these again I don't think I've really got the room for a stand now plus I store alot of empty cardboard boxes on top the wheels, which might make it unstable. I am looking at storage bags now as it will make carrying them alot easier, think I'm gonna get these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unitec-75555-Tyre-Bag-Piece/dp/B001KXJI2M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361878925&sr=8-
Tony
Can't go wrong at that price.
Viking
That was on sale in Lidl a year or so ago at £12 or so. I bought one, and I wish I'd bought two.
Rich
The bags or the stand? I don't have a local one to pop to, I have to go out of my way so normally miss the good offers they do
Viking
No, the tyre stand. If you go onto lidls website (here) and on the right hand side you select sign up for the newsletter, you get a couple of emails a week telling you what specials are coming in the following week. Rich
I bought those covers and they look good. The material is thin but it's only to offer some protection so should be ok and the strap is stitched around the whole cover. Some others I've seen it's just a handle at the top so when you lift the wheel up the stitching would probably snap! I also like the fact they are marked with which corner of the car the wheel has come off.
Tony
Sensible build, how much were they.
Rich
£12.50 delivered.
Tony
Can't knock that price.
Rich
Nope, worth a try and hopefully makes carrying them to the car and back easier. Will get some photos of them on the wheels when I swap them over on the Civic.
parthiban
Those look quite good, can you get any that cover the whole wheel? After getting the flat in the merc might be good to have a bag like that as the wheel doesn't really fit in the well properly - it has a plastic bag to put the wheel in but that a little unwieldy, this looks quite handy. SMARTLY
Were those from ebay Rich? As I need a set before the end of the month.

I'm sure you can but these are designed to go with the stand they also make so the centre part needs to be missing to mount the wheels on it. Were those from ebay Rich? SMARTLY
What size wheels / tyres do they cover as the Amazon listing doesn't say and I can't find anything on Google?
Rich
In the comments for one of the reviews there is this: I have 16" with 205/55 tyres. There was a resonable ammount of room, so I doubt you'll have any problem with 17" wheels.
