Rich
Check your car is on the database for free or for a fee check other vehicles if you've been involved in an accident. You will need the registration and date, they will then supply the insurance details for that vehicle, if it's on there! Check your insurance here

Rich
Just a reminder about this. I have just got a letter from the MIB saying the MX5 isn't insured!! Quick phone call to the broker and it should be sorted in 24 hours. I insured the car in July so I'm amazed I haven't been pulled over. Rich
It was insured, it just wasn't showing on the insurance database. Something had happened somewhere but should hopefully be sorted now.

Geoffers
Same happened to my mate. The police were ok really from the outset and went ballistic at the insurance company on the phone for not updating it. He explained this made him late for work and got a bit of a Police escort - they didn't break the speed limit or have blues and twos but certainly drove aggressively with him following.
jammy
Still free for me mate. Reply? I will try gain later.. Just took a new trade policy out. Last year it took 4 weeks for my vehicles to go live on that database... And someone had decided to play police man when I had 5 cars outside and reported me for no insurance because how can anyone hve 5 cars insured he said.. He has never heard of a trade policy police came out and never even spoke to me, he went to the guy who reported me and assured the do-gooder that all my cars were legal.. jammy
How would they know Tony can you remember me getting stopped that time? I was 10 months into my policy and initially got stopped for no insurance The situation was about to escalate quickly from there but a call to Swinton and a firm dressing down from the copper and it was on the data base before he finished dealing with me, I also apparently had no licence and was on a ban! But sure enough I was let on my way with my car and continued my day out at hemal lmfao

I thought only traders could have that kind of insurance? It must be what one of my neighbours does cos he if forever changing cars or has 2-3 on the go at once. How much does it cost you to take that policy out and what happens when you want to add or remove cars?
