liner33
Same as normal plugs the spark arcs from the electrode to the body of the plug

liner33
Most plugs are preset from the factory anyway , so are already "adjusted" to an ideal gap and with many types you should not adjust them as they are fragile Formula one uses plugs like these http://www.formula1-dictionary.net/spark-plug.html
Tony
F1 as the race series or F1 as in the fast fit company?.... If these don't need the correct gap then i'm struggling with that.
Rich
I would've thought the website gives that a way! I don't think I've ever adjusted the gap on a spark plug, they're fitted straight out the box.
Tony
What does the web-site give away.

SMARTLY
Quote I don't think I've ever adjusted the gap on a spark plug, they're fitted straight out the box. Really? Different cars can have different gaps and there is no guarantee that all four plugs have the same gap out of the box
Rich
Nope I've never adjusted them and never had a problem with the ones I've fitted.
Geoffers
I remember many, many moons ago checking with my gap adjuster when I was going over my car.... I remember taking them out and giving them a tap on the pavement to knock them in ever so slightly. Tell you how long ago it was, it was my Escort Mk2. Gulp. Last time I did it I swapped the rotor arm and points too as the spark seemed a little weak. My mate used to do his and was convinced the gap was exactly the width of the cardboard on No6 ciggy box! Tony
I used to close the gap that way....Before that I'd hit it with a hammer but then i went posh

Tony
That's a turn-a-round since back in their time the car wouldn't run unless the gap was correct.
