Tony
As some know i wasn't impressed with the Meguiar's head light treatment   So i decided to try their new treatment   This was much much better and i didn't need a drill which does nothing other than spray treatment all over the body work.  Today i tried it on the NSF lens which was the worst of the two.      Expensive but very good.
Tony
Anyone here clayed their car?..... After waxing and sealing the paint it looks really good ( well i think so ) but if you run your hand over the paint it feels gritty, so today i bought this... Â Â I find Meguiars stuff really good plus this one gives 60% more clay free. Â Any hint's and tips?
liner33
Yeah the megs stuff is ok , use plenty of quick detailer or some car shampoo mixed with water in a squirt bottle , the secret is to keep it well lubricated

Rich
Yes the car needs to be wet to use clay so in the rain is fine! Â You'll probably find you won't have enough QD in that kit. I make a shampoo mix up or even use the rose on the hose as I use bilt hamber clay that just needs water. I've not clayed for a few years now, mine badly needs doing! Â When I've used all of mine I'll be getting the clay towel, it'll make the job much quicker -Â http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/atomiza-clay-towel-cat7.html

NickT
Tony how about asking mr liner33 for a swap to detail your car in exchange for a geometry? Everyone's a winner! (Apart from me)

(Apart from me) He just did the Jag , we traded it for a new pc monitor  I could do it if it was left with me though but its a bit late in the year

liner33
Very true , I lent my cloth to a mate who was totally new to the whole detailing thing , he couldnt believe the difference polishing a clayed car

Yes, use a lot of lube, you don't want to mar the paint by letting it get dry.
Tony
I used the quick detail spray that came with the kit... The clay was really dirty and some parts are like glass smooth but others are not so i think i need to try those areas again.
Rich
If it's never been done it may take a couple of passes to get all of the contamination off. It's usually a bit quicker to use tar and fallout remover first so it melts it, then wiped off.
Tony
I still have a block and a half of clay left so i might as well use that.
