first car event in ages

Its been years since I had been to anything car related especially anything I was in some way involved in. living some distance away from friends and having a little girl only 1 and a half makes it difficult to find enough reason to spend much time doing my own thing on the weekend.

So when a close friend and car detailer asked if I could find some time to pop over to his unit last sunday as a favour to take some photos for him at his product open day, it was the perfect opertunity for me to both socialise with some car people and get my photographic juices flowing again without feeling like I should be at home playing with my Daughter. Now it wasn't anything exceptional but it was exactly everything that I miss about being part of the car community and I have really enjoyed the response to my photos from the car guys that were there, Ive spent all evening dealing with requests for high res copies of cars from their owners despite feeling rusty on the day and that I would only have a couple of pics I would be happy with. So all in all I'm feeling pretty good and thoroughly enjoyed myself

if interested you can find some of the photos I took on the link below

Thanks, I was there a few hours and by the end I felt more in the swing of things again but its that beginning bit getting your head back in gear that made me feel rusty. It was nice to see a mix of cars too, reminded me of the old car club I use to help run. Open and friendly forum for everyone, but it became a Jap club as the owner wanted to weed out the numbers and moved it over to facebook.

Its good fun having a small gathering, much better and manageable than a huge show

Know what you mean about finding the time to do these kinds of things. I am hoping to get to Japfest this year as i haven't been for 2-3 years for the exactly the same reasons of having a daughter. Its an interesting day out :)

Nice mix of motors those RS Focus things are a bit of a beast. Question : Some of those cars look like they are mid slide? Or are they pulling out of the parking spaces? :)

They were just parking up after or before having a wash. It looks more action than there actually was

And i have to agree, the pink on blue astra is a little marmite, in the flesh the colour is quite "ping" ! But nobody spotted the Bentley wheels on the golf.... i didnt like those :sad01_anim:

Noticed those wheels looked horrible on that car, but didn't pay enough attention to spot they were Bentley ones! That must have cost a fair bit?
