m.r.davies
Hi I've got a Seat Leon Cupra R MK1 and since owning it i've always had an issue with the insides of the front tyres wearing fast than the rest i took it to a laser alignment place, and they did a minor adjustment but said it was fine, however the insides are trashed, and the rest of the tyre has loads of tread left i'm guessing this needs a camber adjustment? the problem is, the garage i went to, didn't have a clue what was wrong with the car, and said the tracking is fine, and didn't want to know, even though they saw the tyre wear. so what i would like to know is if the camber thing is what i need adjusted and if so, where near cardiff is the best place to get this done (ideally i want a garage that know what they are talking about) thanks all
CIH
what kind of mileage do you usually get from a set of front tyres ?
m.r.davies
what kind of mileage do you usually get from a set of front tyres ? based on the last 5 sets, and the mileage (35k) i've done, it works out 7,000 miles I've only ever had 2 sets on the rear (thats what you get for 265BHP on a front wheel drive car though i suppose)
CIH
Mileage doesn't suggest camber specifically. Sounds more like a toe or castor issue tbh.

Tony
deffo looks lateral... The wear is to severe and to confined to be lateral.

Thanks Tony the guy who recommended you on seat cupra.net also mentioned i may need a kit http://www.ingallseng.com/35657-vw-adjusta...ball-joint.html not sure if that is right, however I'm keen to try and resolve with a camber adjustment first (possible?), then try a kit if it fails I don't suppose u have anyone in south Wales? If not is there a specific machine ishould look for? The place I was in today had a new system called proAlign, he said tracking was out, so I mentioned the camber and he said it was the same thing any advice appreciated

The adjuster is for the camber but it reads "left side only" but you need both...... As to where, type your post code into this site> www.alignmycar.com that will find the nearest Hunter machine to you.
HighlandPete
I've got a Seat Leon Cupra R MK1 and since owning it i've always had an issue with the insides of the front tyres wearing fast than the rest .....i'm guessing this needs a camber adjustment? From the posts and picture, 35k miles and 5 sets of tyres... extreme wear. Simple questions... not specific to this car, but typical of some cars out there. How on earth is a car set up like that, was it ever inside the build parameters, needing adjustment kits to put it right? Or what is going on? What's the experience?
