Saph cossie

I thought i should do this from the start, so here goes.

I always had the intention to get another cossie, despite the fact i said i never would. Before i bought this i test drove a 380bhp evo 5 and a 400bhp skyline. Now, dont get me wrong, the evo handled fantasticly and the skybus was much less sqeeky than a saph but neither of them had the soul and passion that cossies seem too !

I had a look at a couple of cossie, but this one stood out. It had the engine rebuilt by harvey gibbs at SCS and had everything else it should, albeit not everything was fitted that well. The only downsides were no MOT or Tax

After 2 trips to Ipswitch we came to an agreement,he would MOT it and i would by it.....

So what do you think it failed on after being off the road for 4 and a half years ???

Rot,

emmisions

Tyres

Brakes

No,

It failed on a CV Boot and the brakelights not working which was down to a dodgy switch.

So i got it home on the 19 of june 09 drove it around for a week then off the road it came for some wiring. I say some, most of behind the dash had to be done

The spec

Harvey Gibbs, built and prepped

200 block,

Long studded

7.35:1

Ported and polished head

Portmatched manifolds

reground crank

balanced bottom end

standard cams. exhaust advanced 2degrees inlet retarded

Big winged sump

2wd Exhaust manifold

Genuine RS500T4 turbo with 247 Mar-m shaft

Genuine RS500 intercooler

Greys

1.9 Bar

K+N filter

Air injectors

Scorpion 3" exhaust, centre box removed, 4" tip

Live mapped by Harvey and Ahmed

444bhp.

got a bailey breather

A proper strutbrace

Grp A coil

Avo coilovers

Pretty decent Leather interior

Kahn 17"s with new Avon ZZ3 tyres

Defi gauges. oil temp, oil pressure, exhaust temp, boost and fuel pressure and the defi link controller

Secs monitor

ACT gauge ( which i have broken lol )

The spec now is about the same, just with larger injectors ( siemens 83lb ) and a MSD chip which unfortunatly isnt running right. and now is down to 383bhp

The plus sides to the chip is that it now has ALS and LC lol

Enough waffling. pictures time

Not long after i got it, it was like this

Then more money started to get spent. The blue hose is on still as i need to get hold of a 75mm throttle body as the standard one is 63mm

Orange SFS hoses, T4 5 ply metal reinforced effort

New front and side indicators

Gear gaitor ( which i still havnt fitted )

Alloy bottom rad hose ( which i had moddified )

Rear strut brace ( for sale )

And i modded the ISCV for the ALS too

got a bailey header tank too as the plastic one was about to pop.

I changed the s***ty Kahn steering wheel for a 3dr job. not the nicest but far better than that chvvy crap

Then after getting back on the road the day before Ford fair i did this on the way up to ford fair

Will try and get some pictures of after i detailed it a month ago.

How difficult was it to remove the dash and do the wiring? Looks like a nightmare trying to put it all back!

There's a Rouse Sapphire near where my brother lives. Plus new supervisor is an RSOC rep and drives a clean S2 Escort turbo so I've seen a few Turbo Fords recently lol.

 You feeling alright, you didn't make any defamatory statements about it being a ford!

doing the dash was a pain. there were 3 alarms systems all tied into each other, loads of bad soldering etc.

Got to take it up for a geo but its coming off the road end of this month so i can save abit of money towards a decent gearbox,

I take it you're going to WIM for the geo? Let me know when, I would love to see this in the flesh :(

I used a rotary as my main, then went over with a PC. I do abit of detailing on the side, so just gave it a quick once over

Cool, I'm into my detailing as well...need to get the G220 out soon before the weather gets bad.
