melmose
the ford focus year 2015 , has rear passive assisted steering. what effect does that have on the geometry of the car ?is it worth having or is it just another toy like the automatic handbrake which seems to be favoured by the car makers at the moment? thanks in advance , melmose . Tony
It certainly helps with parking so i would say it's an asset. That being said getting used to it for the experienced driver is difficult because on low speed corners it feels like massive oversteer. liner33
Bit like HICAS on the Skyline then
Tony
Yep and the Honda Accord... I spent more time locking the rear steer off than i ever did calibrating it.
SMARTLY
You sure the Focus has got this? Not seen it in the specs. and although I've got a 2014 spec thought I was up to speed with the newer MK 3.5. Your not confusing it with the parallel and nose-on parking or park-out assist? adam_r
Tony, which Accord has passive rear steer? Im sure the 6th,7th and 8th gens do not have passive rear steer... Think the last car with this was the prelude with 4ws

Had rear steering on my old prelude, was brilliant for parking!

SHAHZ
I did wonder which accord had the rear steer, within the family we have had number of them over the years and didnt recall any of them having it
Tony
Personally i think switchable passive rear steer is a good idea as do the Japs who applied it to many home grown models.
