Rich
I moved the 17s for the Accord into the shed over the weekend and took a proper look at how much tread is left. I was shocked that they're around half worn already, I only got them fitted in March and they've done approx 3500 miles. At that rate they will last me next summer and then need replacing again! If I only get 7k miles out of them I'll have to look for a cheaper longer lasting tyre. How many miles have others got from this tyre? parthiban
Wow is that even wear across the tyre? That's quite surprising, unless you drive pretty hard!
Rich
Yes even wear across, I'll measure them when I remember but unless they don't have 8mm of tread to start with they are as bad as the Toyo's I had on the Mondeo years ago, I only got 7k miles from the fronts on those, the rears did 20k+. I know FWD cars wear the front out quicker but that is too quick for my liking and the reason I didn't buy the Toyo's again. I don't drive it hard at all, most of the time I'm taking it easy and the missus has probably done 1/3 of that mileage as well.
Tony
Jay only got 8k out of his on the Audi. Trouble is you can't have superb grip and mileage from any make of tyre.... Look at F1 slicks, half a race and their done.
parthiban
7k seems a bit excessive though, I'm sure the F1As did about 15k at least (need to check when I had them put on)
Rich
If I'd know they wouldn't last this long I probably would've gone for something else, they weren't cheap Yes they're a good tyre but probably overkill for my car, especially as they're only for summer use. Tony
Mich sport club only do about 4k but saying that they are for 400+ BHP cars.
adam_r
I found mine did circa 10k, but i ran them 36 psi
Tony
What on cups?
Rich
I found mine did circa 10k, but i ran them 36 psi On 33psi I can feel they have less grip, not sure I'd run them at 36. Might as well use a less grippy/cheaper tyre with lower pressure.
parthiban
Mich sport club only do about 4k but saying that they are for 400+ BHP cars. The Cups are a semi-track tyre though so you'd expect that to be a much softer compound.
P4UL T
I sure I got 20k ish out of mine on the ST
Rich
I sure I got 20k ish out of mine on the ST The rears could probably do that, they don't drive the car but I can't see that on the front not at the rate I'm going through mine.
