Funky
I've had the car 2 weeks now and driven about 800miles and loving it! Makes me smile every time I get in and drive. First here are some pictures. (sorry the quality of the pics suck) The drive is fantastic, smooth quiet and effortless. Very comfortable to. The inside is a nice place to be with everything easy to reach. I've been driving like an old man with the gearbox set to eco mostly, rarely use sport mode or the manual paddle/switches. The power to overtake is always there when you put your foot down anyway whichever is selected. I wasn't sure about a diesel or an automatic but the salesman was spot on with his recommendation, I love it. I feel a bit more grown up lol. No niggles or annoyances so far I'm guessing the fuel economy will improve as things settle down and wear in. The best I've had on a long run was 53mpg but the car had only done a few miles when we took it to York. About 3 and a half hours trip for us, the rest of the mileage has been short to medium trips and its been averaging 40-45mpg. Only thing I want to add is the Sat-Nav module, from Mercedes it's £485 I think but I have seen it for £350 on Amazon. Salesman said he would check the model numbers for me when I find one and am ready to get it.
Rich
That looks awesome, very nice mate Does it sound like a diesel?
Funky
Thanks Rich. From the outside yes a bit. From inside only when revs are high.
liner33
Nice . Diesel and AMG takes some getting used to
P4UL T
Nice cars these, I always love driving them. The AMG bit is referring to the sports styling kit, nothing to do with the performance. Any reason you didn't go for the new shape C class? Or did you get a deal on this?
Funky
Was all about the deal this time. To get me on the new car ladder and the new coupe not available yet. If I look after it well in 3 years time who knows....
Tony
Stunning car you lucky man, i bet you've not stopped fiddling with all the toys yet ..... I have to say the body styling is a hard one to beat as is the build quality.
parthiban
Very nice, one good thing about the older car is it doesn't have the silly "tablet stuck on dash" media screen!
Tony
True but it does have all the sat-nav blue tooth auto pilot jobies though
Funky
Oh yeah it's got all the gear. Bluetooth phone and music, auto lights and wipers, electric seats cruise control etc. The Sat-nav is a plug in module that I don't have yet😓 I was chasing a price for the car and monthly payments so it can wait a bit. Yes I don't get that screen setup in the new model. Looks like an after thought.
Tony
All the boys toys, i love it.... Fact is what a car, i thought Elaine's BMW was a bullet but your MB blows that away Magnum style.
P4UL T
The Becker unit?
Funky
The Becker unit? Yes that's it. I was told there is 2 different models one is better that the other. Something about entering the Postcode in 2 parts on the lesser one, or something
P4UL T
There are a couple, new on eBay from reputable sellers

Rich
Is yours affected by this? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/article-2792546/mercedes-benz-recalls-28-000-new-c-class-cars-including-8-000-uk-steering-fault-safety-officials-say-affect-control-car.html
parthiban
That looks like it's for the new C. Steering fault though doesn't sound great!
Funky
Fortunately not mine, thats the new model. Doesn't sound good though. Toyota would take some beating for recalls lately
Rich
I remember now, you went for the older model. It doesn't sound like a difficult fix, something just needs clicking into place.
Tony
So basically the steering column coupling on some of them hasn't been done up hence the noise.
