Tony
Here is a sad tale of £170K SL65 AMG written off by a mechanic who picked it up to be repaired at the Mercedes dealership.Problem with the on-board computer & Traction control > http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2568392/Distraught-driver-tear-eye-hapless-mechanics-crashed-170-000-Mercedes-routine-test-drive-taken-garage-minor-computer-fault.html
Tango
But he bought it in 2010 for £40K so what would be the book value now? £25K or less? Daily Mail making a big story out of just another car accident, and without any apparent concern for the injuries to the mechanic who was driving it. Tony
Sounds about right for the Dailyfail.
Steve-O
i would have liked to see how this happened though. Lack of traction control via the fault and a bootful ? The car was being driven at a legal speed though. Sounds a bit confusing to me.
Tony
Looking at the damage he must have been gunning it.
SMARTLY
Well it was a dual carriageway so he could have legally been doing 70 mph if that's the speed limit on that bit of road.
Tony
Well that would do it then.
parthiban
and without any apparent concern for the injuries to the mechanic who was driving it. The owner was concerned seemingly, as in this quote 'My first concern was for the safety of the driver who thankfully wasn't hurt. The paint on that car looks pretty cool, not sure if it's £25k worth but it does look nice. The owner's right to be annoyed, may have been within speed limits but clearly someone's booted the throttle in a car with ludicrous torque and traction control that wasn't working - led to the inevitable result that it's been wrecked. Tony
Road looks wet or at least damp as well.
Steve-O
Just looks like the driver ran out of talent combined with no appreciation for the cars power and current state of its health. Fail.
