Tony
I think once the price comes down this will really catch on.
Rich
It's a skateboard with a motor on it! I can't really see it catching on and will only interest those who already use them. Alot of it is to do with balance so having a motor is pointless IMO.
SMARTLY
Would it be legal to use in the UK?
Vipercar93
Would it be legal to use in the UK? Only if there is a wheel tax =) I like it, could see those useful for many applications.
SMARTLY
There are a couple of kids near me that go round on electric scooters and they go pretty fast, they are up and down the pavements and across the roads in a flash. I know a couple of people have complained about them.
Freaky Roadster
We had those petrol driven "go-peds ???" banned so we can ban this idea as well. Not safe on road and not safe on pavement. P.s. only works for skinny people, not strong enough or powerful enough for " the larger framed people". Tony
What interests me is the power from such a small motor and the battery life. It is a positive move forward, albeit not practical for someone my age.

Hey, you're only as old as you feel (so stop playing with yourself) If that really does have a 6 mile range - presumably on the flat - then that is very impressive. However not quite sure about the comment "the problem is the last mile of the journey". Well, if you are fit enough to ride one of these things then you are fit enough to walk!! Looks a little bit like they are trying to find a problem that isn't there, but nevertheless there appears to be some good development. phipck
" the last mile of the journey" was in reference to the little bit of tube or bus thats used in big cities once you have got to the big city. So they wanted something small for the last mile.
Tony
If it runs out of power can't it be used as a normal skateboard?
phipck
yup
Tony
Then all it needs is for the price to drop.....
Vipercar93
Then all it needs is for the price to drop..... Wait for the ban stick... until they can find a way to tax it!
phipck
theres no need for tax as its 0 emmissions, like an electric scooter or car. Price is for the R&D of the first wave of models and im sure in time with mass production the price would drop, but i cant see it becoming a massive thing in the UK, appart from "graphic designer" types who might want to skate to work in the large cities. And there wont be any issue using it on the roads as long as its within daylight hours as is the case already with any mode of transport that has no lights.
