The Cyclist's Revenge

Should have been on the inside lane at all times except when turning right.

Every time I hear about cyclists ranting on about road safety, dangerous junctions, jumping red lights and all the other "poor us" arguments, my blood boils.

Get a licence, pay road tax, get MOT and get insured. Then, OBEY the highway code and use some sense. Give way to larger vehicles because they often can not see you but they will muller you. That goes for lorry to car as well as car to bike. You want to jump the lights across me? Up comes the HUD and you're in the cross hairs on green. Cycle lanes are not just for show, use them or lose them and get the f*** off the pavements.

END OF RANT. :thumbsup_anim:

Thank you and good night. ;)

i dont agree........

there is no road tax, these days its emmisions and as cyclists dont cause any emissions why should they pay? as for MOT i do partially agree with that, i think any mode of transport should be serviced regularly to ensure its safety. Public roads are there for the public, so whether you are driving a car, lorry, walking or riding a bike we all have the same right to use the road. As for a vehicular heirachy, if you are competant in the use of the road, you should be aware of your vehicals short commings, whether they be blind spots, breaking distances, acceleration limitations or fragility. I dont believe that leaving the responcibilty of avoiding your vehical to a person oporating a smaller vehical is the right way to go.

i am both a driver and a cyclist, i pay attention to others on the road, not what vehical they choose to use and im considerate to their limitations. It is my responcibility to ensure i cause no harm to another person through my actions, regardless of whether it causes me to slow down or be delayed.

the guy in the video was a twat and deserves a hiding, it wasnt revenge for almost being knocked off the bike, it was blatant vandalism. Any good cyclist will use the road as you would in any other vehical, this includes no cycling on footpaths, anyone who doesnt pay that respect i class as a pedestrian on a bike, not a cyclist and shouldnt argue that they are victimised as one.

theres no excuse for being an abusive road user regardless of being on a bike or in a car. :thumbsup_anim:

"pedestrians on a bike" are illegal, subject to fines from £30 upwards. Unless they are 7 y.o or under IIRC.

I was clipped 6 times last year by these mongrels, every single one of them thought I should get the f*** out of their way on a narrow path at night, them with no lights. What should I do, walk in the road and get run over? Next one gets clouted and his bike demolished. Most of them don't even know about the highway code.

Cycle lane empty, cyclist on general road slowing down traffic. F'ing morons.

A few years ago 4 cyclists were seriously injured or killed within a few months of each other. All of them went up the inside of lorries turning left at a set of lights. Larger vehicles can not always see what smaller vehicles are doing, makes sense for the smaller vehicle to take extra care always and give way at the slightest hint of trouble.

Cyclists seem to have the attitude that they can do whatever they like including barging through a crowd on a pelican or zebra crossing.

When I'm driving I always take due care when cyclists are around, overtake when it's safe and leave them a decent amount of room.

Trouble is the number of cyclists that ride side by side making it impossible to overtake and when they do go into single file hurl abuse at you.

Only once, on a twisty road, has a cyclist ever signalled back to me to hold on so that he could check if the coast was clear for me to overtake.

How about a clamping system for cyclists on paths. Padlock the wheel to the frame so that they have to take it to the local nick, pay the fine and get it removed. Might deter them.

AAAHHHHHHH!!! I feeling a lot better now my spleen has been vented.

As a pedestrian in central london a lot of the time it makes you really aware of how so many cyclists are complete w***ers and have a complete disregard for any pedestrians just so they can keep moving.

In my opinion giving them more "rights" on the road has firstly made the roads more treacherous to pedestrians and additionally given them this belief that now they "belong" they can ride like tw*ts.

I don't have any stats to back it up, but I wouldn't be surprised if less cyclists were actually hurt when people cared less about them and therefore they took more care themselves not to get hit by anything.

I remember a few years ago when I drove in to work one Saturday. Pulled up at a set of lights signalling to turn left.

Lights turned to amber and just as I was about to launch a girl cycled across, obviously through a red light. So I launched anyway, and pulled gently round the corner taking note that she was not even bothered by the fact that if I wasn't paying attention and only looking at the lights, she would have left a mess all over the front bumper, bonnet and roof of my car.

She's a woman, must have known how difficult it would have been to get blood, brains and crap out of a tan mohair hood. :(

thats a good example of why its our responsability to ensure the safety of other road users, because essentially its possible that the vast majority are retarded in the understanding of personal safety. Im not entirely concerned about whether somone hurts themselves or not generally, but i dont want to be the person that causes it.

Completely agree with that, I drive everywhere assuming that everyone is a moron which gives me a better chance of not hitting someone and also means it doesn't annoy me as much when they do something stupid.

It's as a pedestrian that cyclists really pi** me off, and I don't want to get hit by a bike at 20mph with nothing protecting me..........

I drive everywhere knowing that everyone else is a moron. :(
