Tango Posted November 13, 2011 Report Share Posted November 13, 2011 People often overlook the fact that flying speed has nothing to do with groundspeed (except in landing and takeoff ). When flying into a headwind that's equal to or more than the stalling speed it's possible to remain stationary in relation to the ground, or even appear to be flying backwards.
