89mustang
Not one of our jobs, I hasten to add! Chap had a puncture at home and put his own spare on but at some point on a fast road the wheel overtook him and ended up amongst the sheep! Rich
Why do you think they came off, under-torqued?

89mustang
Why do you think they came off, under-torqued? Pretty sure he only nipped them up and didn't tighten them once it was back on the ground.
MacRS200
That will be fine, just file the "lip" off and it's good to go

Tony
What i don't understand is how the driver didn't notice the situation before the wheel came off...... I've test driven a car with loose wheel nuts and the vibration and noise drastically suggests something is wrong........... Why continue driving
Rich
Think I remember that thread, yes there should be signs something is wrong but some people don't think like that!

Judging by the number of people you see driving around on flat or near flat tyres, then I have to agree with ER. Sometimes its really hard to warn people they have a flat and you just have to say "sod it then" and drive off in front as you don't want to be near them when things get wobbly! Same goes for knackered dampers - they might think (if they think at all, of course) that they just need a wheel balanced...
