Tony
No way to treat a lady, whatever the crime http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-11190561
phipck
that happened quite some time ago buti cant remember if it was posted here. The police officer was in the wrong. There should have been intervention from the other officers, if nothing more to assist in the safe detention of the lady. There wasnt, he was fed up and dealt with her too forcefuly. Im torn as to what i want from a police force, a force that takes no s**t and deals with issues short and sharp, or a force that is considerate to all, careful and caring. Its not easy to combine the two effectively all the time and when things go wrong people might get a bloody nose. apparently she made a full physical recovery but not so full emotional state. He lost his job and got 6 months jail time, and he's appealing the sentence. IMHO he should take what's coming and not further burden the tax payer. The fact that he was turned in by one of his own collegues probably indicates it wasn't an isolated incident.
phipck
or suggestes that his collegue agrees with us in that it was highly inapropriate incident. It is possible that it was a one off, just gone too far, but you pay the price for mistakes.
parthiban
Bl00dy hell was that her blood all over the floor? Says she was arrested for sleeping in her car, is that an arrestable offence? Policeman deserves everything he gets though, I could understand it if she was violent or something but she didn't seem to be, shocking stuff

Just heard on the news that his appeal was supported as the appeal judge said the injury was caused by her letting go of the door frame?? What's that all about, and how can they disregard him dragging her across the floor and forcibly pushing her into the cell? The judge said that after the four-day hearing he was satisfied that Andrews did not intend to throw Somerville into the cell and that injuries she suffered were probably caused by her falling to the floor after letting go of the door frame.
