Tony
No wonder a calibration at the dealer costs so much..... What do you think, about an hour to do all this? This is on a Golf.... BMW and Audi are even worse
jammy
So all that has to be checked and correct before goin on the ramp then ?
Tony
So all that has to be checked and correct before goin on the ramp then ? Well on the ramp and then check it, but before any equipment goes on.
jammy
So does that add extra to the cost of the geo then or do you have to swallow it and get on with it? And if these requirment's arnt met first does effect the final reading that much ?
Tony
I take the extra time on the chin..... Problem is the target data assumes all fields have been met, so if for example the fuel load is light then the calibration will be wrong. jammy
But what about after geo is set and the owner has used most of the petrol? Will the measurment's then be wrong too
Tony
But what about after geo is set and the owner has used most of the petrol? Will the measurment's then be wrong too No all the loading generates a position within the suspensions dynamic range, a "moment in time" so to speak. Once the car is set to that "moment" then no fuel or load parameters will apply.
jammy
Oh rite...seem's a strange requirment though.why not all make's and model's take this approach?
Tony
Oh rite...seem's a strange requirment though.why not all make's and model's take this approach? Because the suspension and bushings are different between models so each variant needs different parameters. The area we are looking at is bushing compliance and suspension pre-loading, then a static moment snapshot of a dynamic condition.
jammy
Suppose would make it boring if all towed the same line.
Tony
Suppose would make it boring if all towed the same line. Yeah the hour wasted would become real "samey".

kgh
Make sure the washer bottle is full...surely that's abit OTT Some could hold a gallon or two How much weight would that be then, obviously enough to make a difference? My dear old Mum taught me the rhyme - "A pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter". So a gallon weighs 10 pounds.
