andyelcomb
Lol. Interesting that the DVLA have that down as a white car.
parthiban
Lol. Interesting that the DVLA have that down as a white car. Aren't those cars usually wrapped?
andyelcomb
Wrapped or painted - I would have thought it a legal requirement to advise of a change of colour. Might have to start checking some police cars...
Viking
Wrapping is temporary, painting is permanent. So if it's a wrap then no need to inform DVLA as the car can be reverted to its original colour very easily.

So if you had a black car and you had it wrapped white, you don't need to get the colour changed to white?
Tony
You would think they would need to be notified though.
Viking
The DVLA used to agree that a vehicle wrap shouldn't need to be recorded. However, they recently issued a statement that they'd effectively changed their minds, and the owner should (note they don't use the word "must") inform DVLA of the change if a full wrap is applied. That doesn't mean s**t until it's challenged by someone in the Courts. DVLA don't make the law, they just make it up.
Tony
Bully boy tactics from the DVLA then.
SMARTLY
Guess danger is you get pulled by plod as colour doesn't match. This was a problem on the early Smart cars as some registered as colour of tridion rather than the swappable panels.
andyelcomb
If the colour is checked (not chequered...) it does help to spot someone with cloned plates.
