Rich
This is why I do most of my own servicing and change parts now, I couldn't bear to part with that kind of money for something I can do myself. Obviously if I owned a Ferrari then I would get someone else to work on it!

Obviously if I owned a Ferrari then I would get someone else to work on it! Funnily enough the Ferrari is a surprisingly easy car to work on - but even so I won't be doing it myself! Service and cambelt is fixed price at just over £1000, hopefully there won't be too many additions on top
Rich
Does that include the pulley and water pump etc or just the belt? Doesn't seem too bad a price considering it's a Ferrari.
parthiban
That price is just for the belt change - I've not actually seen the water pump as something that needs replacing every time you do the cambelt as with some cars, might be because the 360 has a 3 year belt interval so it's quite frequent. liner33
I think with modern coolants water pumps should last much longer , another reason for changing the coolant frequently to ensure its in good condition
Tony
Just be sure the specialists stamp is recognized by the Ferrari dealer.
parthiban
Just be sure the specialists stamp is recognized by the Ferrari dealer. It won't be but that doesn't bother me, barring a few the dealers aren't particularly great from what I've seen so far. Even on my car which has been main dealer serviced stuff like the air filter looked like it hadn't been changed for a while. The guy I'll be taking mine to knows these cars inside out - was a Ferrari tech back when these cars were new so knows everything there is to know
liner33
Same here I took my 370 to a performance and prestige specialist rather than a Nissan dealer , its still in warranty but I'd rather someone who works on GTR's and suchlike to look at it than someone who works on Micras, Notes and Kumquats

parthiban
I'm just thinking of the re-sell history. You know what some people are like. Luckily we're not like the americans, those guys are nuts when it comes to Ferrari history. They won't touch a car that's been in an accident, even a really minor "fender bender"! My car already has a few non-dealer stamps so I'm not making it any worse, and to be honest it doesn't appear to affect the value too much if it's a reputable specialist. I was toying with getting all work done by a specialist and then just sending it in to a dealer for the annual service just for the stamps but seems like a bit of a waste as it isn't necessary.
