Tony
Why?...... I thought they just change the turbo initiation range or rev range so to speak.
liner33
Tuning boxes are notorious for killing engines. Are they ? Used one myself on my E Class for 6 years and they are widely used on the Skoda Fabia's , they just raise the boost a little, you do get what you pay for though . They arent as good as a proper remap but fewer places are actually remapping cars nowadays perfering to load a generic remap on the car. adam_r
Most tuning boxes do this: Raise requested boost Throw more fuel in Advance timing slightly Problem with the above is its all very hap dash and the requested boost and requested fueling do not match. I have personally seen 2 melted audi 1.9tdi engines running tuning boxes But i guess i have seen a few thrown rods from a Revo tune.
adam_r
It saddens me to see tuners using generic crud on maps.. Really is a cheap and cheerful way, especially when most of those maps are purchased on line for £25 ... Almost makes me cry to think people use those maps
Tony
Wouldn't they be accountable for the damage done?
