They were in flight so almost an impossibility to focus on! that's a fantastic photo, next time i'll take a sprig of lavender! They are difficult to catch in the air because they move so quickly and erratically and you have such a small focusing zone if you want to get an image of reasonable size. I sat still for more than half an hour trying to recognise the flight pattern of this Hawker before I finally got a few usable images. It was over the lake at Wrest Park on a warm August afternoon.
