joeB12
Had a customer in on Monday for a suspension and tyre sports package on his Mk3. After going over the options for a sports exhaust, he has decided to go for the Milltek It's the first one we've done on a 5, but they're supposed to be the muts nuts. Will take a few snaps and a video on Friday!
Freaky Roadster
I think they were the first to do a Mk3 zaust and have some dyno proof of more power
Tony
We have fitted them on other cars and they are superb quality .
steveh
I wonder whether they fit the PRHT as it's expressly advertised for the soft top?
Tony
I can't see why not.
steveh
As far as I am aware they're exactly the same length and wheelbase.

joeB12
It sounded fantastic, and there seemed to be a noticable increase in power off the mark! After the coils, geometry and tyre change, this would have to be my next recommendation for any 5!
Vipercar93
Looks like a quality piece of kit! I'm impressed, must sound mean now =)
Tony
Very nice, it must be like driving a different car
steveh
I'm tempted, something to think about for my next (yearly) geometry visit, however I don't think the stock exhaust sounds too bad as long as you keep above 5000k
Rich
That looks nice, shame they don't make them for my car.
Vipercar93
You can always get one made. Usually they will use the old exhaust as a template and bend the pipes on site. Usually costs a little bit more b/c it's a one off, but if you get 304 or 316 stainless it will last a LONG time. I have 304 stainless 3" it's showing a little surface rust now, but it's been on the car nearly 6 years now. I got some flak about spending X amount on the exhaust when I could get a mild steel one for 1/2 the price. Well the person in question, who changed out their exhaust at the same time I did is on his 3rd 'cheap' mild exhaust. I think you can do the math =)
Rich
Yes I know in the long term (if you plan on keeping the car) a stainless is the way to go. I'm looking at about £350 for a custom made one though.
e4tnu
Yes they do make them for the PRHT, i had one fitted to mine about 3 years ago.
joeB12
Re-vamping this thread for anyone who may be interested before the summer hits? So outrageously cheap it makes my eyes water Joe
DaveyR
What is the price of them currently Joe? They look like lovely pieces of kit, very well made, and they sound great from what i've heard on various youtube clips! Personally I think i'll probably replace the manifold first as that is the most restrictive part of the exhaust system and provides the most noticeable gains. I think the exhaust would follow on from that. I'd need something with a cat in the mid-pipe though as whatever manifold (Racing Beat/Goodwin Racing maybe) went in would remove the first cat in the stock manifold. Must make a noticeable improvement to the standard exhaust tone as from inside the car all you can hear is the engine buzzing away when the roof is up! joeB12
The manifold and the cat sit right up front, this Milltek kit runs from the cat back, like you can see from the pics! I'll PM you a price Dave.
DaveyR
Yeah, I understand that, I might not have said it very clearly What I meant was the MX5 mk3 has two cat's, one in the manifold and one fairly soon after that is part of the mid-pipe, which this mid-pipe removes.
