  1. I'm probably due an alignment by then,If anyone wants to see a BBR NC Turbo conversion!
  2. My bonnet catch was loose, I used to hear that on uneven surfaces until I adjusted it.
  3. I think one of the factors is ride height, if your already on lowering springs I believe the Koni dampers will make you even lower which of course has it's own issues. Although my experience is not with BCs but with another brand they will allow you to choose the ride height and not vice versa, in addition damper adjustment is very simple and in my experience required depending on what your using the car for.
  4. My experience with MeisterRs on my MX5 mk 3.5 is that you can probably go to nearly the previous ride height that you had on lowering coils and not have the same grounding issues. I'm at 330-340 corner weighted, the chassis no longer dives/bounces as much as it did when you come off the bump.
  5. I use the same pressure as summer on my snow tyres, unless your seeing a wide variation from day to night time temparatures,( which we don't tend to get in this country in winter.) then you might want to run them a bit higher during the day. If you need to get to work and you drive a light rear wheel drive car they're a good investment. FWD unless in Scotland I wouldn't bother.
  6. I keep wondering about BC racing coils , I've been touring Scotland a lot lately and I'm a bit short clearance at times, an extra 10mm I feel would make a big difference on single track roads (I can ground out if gravel is sitting on top of the camber) . Is there an an equivalent spring rate to give similar ride quality I wonder, I note that BC racing provide the choice of two spring rates. Edit: currently on WIM coils
  7. I'm tempted, something to think about for my next (yearly) geometry visit, however I don't think the stock exhaust sounds too bad as long as you keep above 5000k
  8. As far as I am aware they're exactly the same length and wheelbase.
  9. I wonder whether they fit the PRHT as it's expressly advertised for the soft top?
  10. Thanks Tony, Is that due to the likely wear pattern across the tyre or the simple fact that you'll potentially have less grip at the front due to less tread depth than the rear.
  11. Pretty sure it's equal wear across the width of both rear tyres.
  12. I own an Mx5 2010 RC currently running on WIM coils and noticed that the rear tyres are beginning to show signs of wear , I done about 7K miles , the fronts still looking brand new apart from possible wear on the outside edge of the nearside front (every car I've owned whilst living in Peterborough has been the same). Do I rotate front to back? (They are asymetric) I'm unsure as I understand Tony is not a fan of tyre rotation plus I also understand that the good tyres should be fitted to the rear.
  13. Mines similar when cold in so far as changing up from 2nd to 3rd can be a bit notchy. I've got the six speed box, I have thought about checking with the dealer whether I've got fully synthetic oil in there or not but as you say it's fine when warm.
  14. I have WIM coils on a 2010 sport tech, didn't notice any difference in 'ride' quality. The lowering and geometry setup transforms the handling from a car that was pretty average to in my opinion exceptional. Mines a daily drive, recent 1500 mile tour of Scotland ,the only issue I've come across is the odd speed bump with the car fully loaded.
  15. Thanks again. Sounds like for me I have currently the best solution unless I find I need an intermediate height between WIM coils and originals as a permanent setting.
  16. Thanks Tony , so with coilovers if I moved it back towards the original ride height for a trip where I'm worried about clearance would the geometry not be out and also do you have to adjust the bump rebound for different ride heights.
  17. How easy is the ride height to adjust with coilovers? I ask as I've been running my MX5 with WIM coils and Billies for a month now and the wheel centre to wheel arch is sitting around 330 340 mm from an original 360 mm. Looking at the photo the Mx5 looks as if is riding quite high with the coil overs and as have got a trip coming up to the highlands when a bit more room under the car maybe desirable. BTW I've no issues with the current clearance so far and of course she handles very well.
