  1. He obviously thought it was a good idea, but a pity it didn't just stay as a thought. Presume it still has the original Nova engine , in which case all that extra weight of metal, filler and rolling gear must make it a very slow shed indeed. Got to give him some credit for trying, even with the crappy welds and expanding foam.
  2. Don't believe he was serious, just winding peeps up.
  3. Superb work as always Christian. It looked as if the Aston had seen more than its fair share of auto car washes, but looking on the bright side (no pun intended ) it's previous condition only highlights how much of a difference you can make.
  4. Well they did sell them in the States, and if you were looking for one to restore you'd get a better example from California than Milan
  5. I don't think it's American. Looks more like the Italian 1960 Vespa 400, which was 'the four wheeled scooter'.
  6. Touring the Carp Diem is something else Did anyone see the third Tamara Ecclestone documentary where she hired a super yacht for a week with her sister and boyfriends for £300K? Still peanuts I guess when Bernie buys her a £45 million, house, then forks out another £18 million refurbishing it to her taste. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-20...ome-refurb.html
  7. Anybody know what country the reg plates on the beemer and the UDO are? There's a Korean poster in the shop window, but are those Korean plates?
  8. No way, even though it does look like a snail from that angle.
  9. People often overlook the fact that flying speed has nothing to do with groundspeed (except in landing and takeoff ). When flying into a headwind that's equal to or more than the stalling speed it's possible to remain stationary in relation to the ground, or even appear to be flying backwards.
  10. I don't get it . Did he have a slipping clutch? If he did then the ice and snow didn't contribute anything to the incident.
  11. Someone ought to check whether the Audi dealership haven't transposed the front and rear rims
  12. It switched from the original scenario he described, which was the probable head-on collision at a combined speed of 120 mph, to a single vehicle hitting a wall at 120 mph. The former is more likely to occur, but the result is not represented by the latter as it doesn't take into account the two crumple zones and freedom movement that two vehicles would have. Anyway, if you do feel the need to do 120 mph, try not to drive head on into an immoveable test wall.
  13. Guess he forgot to say "combined speed of 120 mph".

Bloody hell, it's got wheels . Now the pikeys will be able to tow all of it away.
  15. The man is clearly an idiot or perhaps washing the someone else's Merc that he has just had a disagreement with
  16. Tempt it with a bit of fish perhaps?
  17. Cannot complain about those Pirelli Sottozeros that you put on my spare set of rims for the IS200 Sport. The IS200 has a reputation for being undrivable on snow & ice but the winter tyres allowed me last winter to drive past a Landrover Freelander that was stuck on snow and ice on one of the more notorious hills around here (he was obviously on all weather/summer compound and 4x4 wasn't a lot of help in that case).
  18. Last heard from him on August 31st after he'd gone carp fishing and caught five Bream, one Carp and a frog. Hope he hasn't fallen in.
  19. Belongs in a Fairground, or maybe once a year in Blackpool.
  20. Who the hell designed them and why? Just hope those were the only ones that were bought.
  21. Got my set hanging off the centres on the wall of the heated garage. Are you saying it would be preferable to deflate them? Totally or partially?
  22. I usually pick them up and throw them outside. Picked up a big one the other day, opened the back door and threw it out. One of the resident Robins was in the air and had it in its beak the moment it landed ...absolutely amazing to see.
  23. Looks like the near side front has been jacked up, distorting the subframe
  24. Most of my normal mileage consists of short local journeys, but we have just had a few days in Northumberland. We did about 500 miles on motorways, mostly with the cruise control set to 70 m.p.h. and another 140 miles of touring on country roads. I topped the tank twice with a total of just under 47 litres. First fill showed an average of 62.2 m.p.g. and the second 60.7 m.p.g. For a full size family car, with a petrol engine and an auto gear box, carrying two adults plus luggage, I think 70 m.p.h and 60 m.p.g (at the same time) is pretty good. Please stop posting your mpg, it's quite upsetting when your own is around 23 on a good day .
