    My E60 530i

Good idea getting the door handle with no lock
  6. sneaky buggers always manage to get some tax increase in somewhere. what happend to VAT being "temporarily" raised to 15% in the 90s? Now we are at 20% and that was also supposed to be temporary! always pays to shop around
  7. Should be easy enough to retrofit - just a small black box and some transponders that look like stickers. The big brother telematic car insurance is already with us - younger drivers can get big discounts. If you drive around with a smartphone with google maps installed you already have a record of all your movements stored. The positive will probably outweigh the negatives imho.

  9. The smart technology would have registered the car on entry to the petrol station. With no cash what is the point of an armed robbery? The only way to steal money is through cybercrime. ANPR would be redundant as the smart cars would always be connected to a network and be individually identifiable at any time. Look up "IOT Cars" or "Connected Cars". This is all being developed right now. https://tmt.knect365.com/connected-cars-autonomous-vehicles/
  10. will people still be driving themselves or will the cars be self-driving?
  11. Cars will just have identity chips built into them that transmit their registration. Really.... Why?
  12. within ten years number plates will be obsolete. overnight cherished plates will be worthless!
  13. What???????????? that number plate is crap!!!
  14. These quotes were only from the comparison sites. I only use a broker for the MX5 as it's on a classic policy but haven't bothered for the other cars, they can't seem to get close to online quotes. I was with Chris Knott for a while but Marks and Spencer insurance came out cheapest for me last year. worth a try if they didnt show up in the comparison site
  15. Agree Tony, didn't bother calling to find out how much
  16. Did you get quotes from some independent brokers and did you use comparethemarket etc as well?
  17. You don't see many o fthose about. Not sure about the value but DK Engineering have one for sale: http://www.dkeng.co.uk/ferrari-sales/770/Blue_Chip_and_Competition_Cars/Porsche_993_GT2.html

You've done a good job there, great start to motoring for your son..
  19. This driver probably should stick to driving a Prius
  20. Just saw this article - seriously, why risk your car's tyres, suspension or handling when a trip to a pro (like WIM) would give better results. Anyone tried doing their own alignment? I guess if you are Tony then you could! http://www.musclecarszone.com/do-it-yourself-tutorial-wheel-alignment-using-string-method-you-ought-to-give-it-a-try/
  21. A Bentley for rich people where the roads are crap and full of potholes!
