Binding rear brakes from the cold weather

Since the cold snap (and it happened last year too) the rear brakes on the missus Astra H (2005) have a right old tendency to bind.

Scenario.. Leaves for work in the morning parked on a slight slope, starts car and releases hand brake. Car doesn't move, attempt to pull off and the car drags its backside along until the rears unbind with a clunk.

Problem is, it's the equivalent of pulling a permanent handbrake turn until it unbinds, not cool for the first few icy bends!

I've read up on cables being frozen and split cable connectors. Anything else?

Can you guys take this in to look at? Something WIM would work on?
