CIH
Yeah.... basically this shouldn't those wheels be moving in an arc too eh ?
Tony
Yeah.... basically this shouldn't those wheels be moving in an arc too eh ? Well yes, but this is not "perfect world" animation
Sagitar
Yeah.... basically this shouldn't those wheels be moving in an arc too eh ? Well yes, but this is not "perfect world" animation :bananapopcorn: They are moving in an arc. The effect of the parallelogram linkages is to keep the wheels parallel to each other (or subtending a constant angle to each other), but the distance between them changes as they rise and fall. Tony
I think CIH comments relate to the fact the wheels camber should be migrating, to which he is correct.
minkymulbs
Big thanks to the WIM guys today for sorting out my geo setup. I wasnt expecting a massive difference, but I approached a local large round about and normally the car has drifted across quite abit. I was prepared for this but it just held firm and turned as intended I was impressed to say the least. So all I can say is was when Tony said my previous set up was pants he wasnt kidding the difference now is night and day. Yes its cost a fair bit to sort out but im pleased I got it sorted and even more pleased I choose to make the trip to WIM. Now just need to save up for some beefier ARB's
Tony
Your welcome...... You should have asked for me, i didn't know you was waiting for the car, i would have took you out for a hoot in the Lotus.... I decided a front camber of 1 degree, you need to try this for a while because if she pushes corner-in we might have to add some more... Reason for this is the rear is very deep but i didn't want to put you in tyre wear realm. If we need to fine tune things it costs you nothing.... BTW those camber adjusters were pants, not in material terms, adjustable terms, two hours to set the cambers i was going to sack Pete Only kidding.... Remember a fine-tune is free. Tony
Master never gives up on a student assuming the student doesn't shun the master. The geometric learning curve is very long and tedious, i'm over 30yrs into this and still learn each day. A true student needs to consume "everything" and be considered a master by all those beneath. CIH look at those we have trained, even the trainers for national multimillion pound company's have been trained by us and we blew them away. How good are you? CIH
I think I rock your world. If only I could get an Omega steering wheel straight...
minkymulbs
Tony, I have possibly located some arms to dial out the deep rear camber on the accord. Im not really seeing any major tyre wear on the rear so was wondering if I should just leave alone or will it improve handling?. Since WIM did my geo its been such a different car, like you mentioned I might need to increase the neg camber on the front a little. But also dont want to attract excessive tyre wear, yeah I know I want it all
