Tony
This tyre is from the OSF of a Merc Vito van..... Historically it's fully loaded and then some but one tyre wore like this To me the reason is wheel spin due to the extra weight at the rear but the wear is only one tyre and the owner assures me he doesn't wheel-spin the tyres? The calibration didn't show any criminals so i have to conclude the owner is "FIBBING".

Bazza
how would you spin the front wheels on a rear wheel drive van
Bazza
looks like the tyre has deteriorated, maybe it used to be the spare under the vehicle
Tony
how would you spin the front wheels on a rear wheel drive van The Vito is FWD.... What is strange is the dominant drive is the NSF? so i fail to see why the OSF displays this type of abuse?

oedipus
Yup vito is fwd...........i beleave the sprinter is also fwd..but maybe wrong Wrong indeed: Sprinter is definitely RWD (but some do have permanent 4WD). Isn't this kind of tyre damage due to a faulty shock absorber?

Isn't this kind of tyre damage due to a faulty shock absorber? A worn damper wears the tyre like this> A wave like undulating pattern.
