alnug
general question abot stamps in the casting for alloy wheels. I've noticed a stamps which seems to ressemble JIL on alloys....anyone know what it means? does it resemble the low spot on the wheel or maybe the light spot? Mat
The JIL standard is a small logo placed in the design of automotive alloy wheels during the casting process to certify that they have been passed by Japanese Authorities to approve them for sale in the Japanese market the letters JIL mean Japan Institute of Labour

Oh the power of forums I think this is a confusion. I believe the mark is actually JWL but it looks a bit like JIL because of the way in which the outer verticals on the W are run into the J and the L. JIL is indeed the the Japanese Institute of Labour, but I don't think it has anything to do with approving wheels - that is done by their Ministry of Transport.
