Tony
Wheel horror....... This car had BBS wheels fitted, so a well-known and respected marque. On three of the wheels the spokes had cracked but with no other obvious signs of wheel trauma so pot-holes or kerbs can't be blamed. Looking at the spokes it was only a matter of time before the entire hoop would have detached.
Tango
Are you certain they're really original forged BBS rims?
Tony
100% no. If they are copies then they did tick all the boxes.
Rich
3 out of 4 rims damaged, I'd say definitely fake. Cheap Chinese copies probably https://m.made-in-china.com/hot-china-products/Bbs_Replica_Rims.html
Tony
Is there any way to tell them apart?
Rich
There are a few things I think like stamp markings and font type. Did you get photos of the whole wheels and the inside?

Give the edge a clout with a lump hammer, if they're copies most likely will fracture, BBS forgings will just distort. Fair bet they're cast replicas of the original forged and heat treated rims looking at those pics.
Tony
Thinking about it i bet there would be a weight difference between the two.
Steve-O
Fakes these days are very good in terms of looking the part. Wheel weights speak the truth in this situation!!
