Darren Vicary
Hi can someone help me out, I am putting a set of 18" wheels on to my Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTDM and need to work out if I can carry a space saver wheel with a size of 125/80/15, the tyre size of the new wheels are going to be 225/40/18 !!! if not could I change the tyre on the space saver to get the right size in high. I only need it if I have a blow out or puncture to get me home.
Viking
According to this online tyre size calculator you're gonna be about 2" diameter different. I reckon that's just too much to even consider.
Tony
Some cars do have a smaller diameter spare tyre due to boot limitations, but if it's not by design then issues with ABS or traction control could come into play.
Rich
Maybe fit it and see if the ABS or traction lights come on and feel how the car is then decide. Did the Alfa ever come with 18s from the factory, if they did then what size spacer saver was used?
