Rich
A good read but I don't agree with the below statement having run my winter tyres all summer. The grip in the dry was awesome, although with the softer compound they can feel a little squidgy. 3) What are winter tyres bad at?At temperatures above 7C they offer significantly poorer grip in dry conditions than the best summer tyres. This can mean a marked increase in braking distances and poorer handling and grip in bends.
parthiban
I haven't used winter tyres but with my summer tyres I do feel that around 7C (maybe a fraction higher) is where the tyres really switch on again so I could actually believe that. While the winter tyres may have felt fine under fairly normal driving conditions, the summer tyres would probably outperform them once the temps rise back up again.
