Tony
A total of 64 cars were aboard cargo ship Astongate traveling from Toyama, Japan, to Vladivostok, Russia. After the storm hit the ship -- 52 of them ended up at the bottom of the sea. Whoever bought those cars signed a document allowing the cargo to be transported on ship's deck at their own risk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38jDQkkaxT8&feature=player_embedded

liner33
They broke loose in the storm I guess , when I was in the RAF we lost three brand new Iveco tractor units off the deck in a storm off the Bay of Biscay. A mate of mine lost his newly purchased Skyline on the journey back from Japan when the boat sank , he was covered though

Tony
I don't understand the owners gamble, surely transport insurance wouldn't have been that much money?
