  1. To write things down maybe! You there you are driving down the road and you suddenly think " i must write a memo" and Lotus knew that would happen so made a nice pen holder on the dash its to make a running list of: 1) things that have fallen off the car 2) the different warning lights you have seen 3) how many times you have had to stop and get an electrical fault fixed
  2. Hello there This is compleatly standard procedure that ALL garages follow. my father had a michelin tyre that seemed to grow a HUGE ridge down the centre of the tread, all away around the tyre (like a hill) it was obvious the tyre was faulty and it had done less than 3000 miles. garage sent it back to manufacturer where they then stated it was faulty and refunded my dad. I would also like to say.. have you tried your tracking ? I myself have a 54 plate Honda Accord 2.2 Diesel.. and i am currently running these tyres and i can safely say the car feels solid all the way to 130+ (goodwood track day by the way!) also the grip and confidence the tyres give is truley amazing for their price. have you tried getting the tracking / geo done ? i have a feeling its not the tyres... its the cars Geo thats causing these problems. Awaits tony to chime in and blow me out the water
  3. Tony, you need to look about. There are some seriously good tuners out there who can set the carbs up properly and it will make the car better
  4. pretty sure the lotus has a twin carb setup. old age stuff
  5. fair enough. i just thought you may have a little more knowledge as you do deal with some pretty nice metal :
  6. Tony.. how can you confuse a turbo with a carb or injector !
  7. interesting.... would these look silly on the headlights ?i was going to get some stone protectors for my lights and tint them as 'headlight shades' but this might be a good cheaper alternative
  8. im glad im not the only man wired up like that
  9. and the guy standing next to her... well there really must be something WAY more interesting over to his right that whats inches away from his left. if that was me i think i would have burried my face in there as she was getting out the limo
  10. plus, you can tell those 2 ladies in the front of the picture are jelous
  11. i wouldnt mind a few nights with her but unfortunately... some one who bares all like that is bound to be an attention seeker... and i dont go for that type...
  12. oh dear.... part of me was cringing, part of me was hoping the brake disk would explode and shower the place in metal. As the good old saying goes... ONLY in america
  13. and then dont forget to supply us with a link
  14. XJ220 wheels on a transit....
  15. i need to buy you a beer at some point so much about car suspension / geo i still have yet to find out about! i guess the toe at -30 is toe out ? and that will cause the car to be more skittish when trying to drive straight but will aid turn in as the inner wheel will seem to be turning harder that the outer ?
  16. interestiong that we have no camber adjustment i though ALL cars had that ? what exactly will raising the castor do to the handling ? no idea what it castor does.
  17. Hey Tony. No we have not really modified the suspension setup apart from the shocks and springs. would you be able to supply me with a rough spec i could show a local garage and just point and say do it to these limits ? ideally we need to try and reduce the heavy wear on the outside of the tyres as it got quite bad at cadwell.
  18. Hello guys A good friend and myself got in to the track day scene since then we have done a few circuits.. cadwell being the latest attempt we are currently running a rover 600 2.0 turbo which is stripped out etc. At cadwell we both noticed that the tyres gripped, but seemed to be unpredictable when reaching their grip limit (hard cornering). On further inspection it was obvious that the outside of the tyre was taking a beating as it was obviously melting the rubber. We know its not the best handling car in the world but it was cheap.. and we are not bothered if we stuff it. we have put new standard shocks on the car and put 20mm lowering springs which are a little stiffer than stock.. what type of camber should we be running ? im inclined to go to about -1 on either side on the front... but i cannot find any values for castor etc for the rest of the geo setup. Could we have some advice please Adam

how much is a decent tyre pressure gague anyway tony ? been looking at getting a good one as i dont trust the local petrol station calibrations (if they have even seen a calibration tool!).. i have to take mine to a local friendly tyre fitting place who are very good.. but i feel a bit akward going in there every 2 weeks.
  20. some one should have told him to rub his eyes... now that would have been funny!
  21. you wonder about life and 'natural selection'... you know the only way the woman above is alive / may reproduce is because of her chest.
  22. You really need to read more news mate, he spent 12 million quid on this...too much money to spend that on a car and I bet he won't even drive it. he drives ALL of his fezza's and once a year he holds an 'auction' when he gets the adverage jo to place bids.. the top 6 bids win... ALL the money from the winning bids goes to charity and he lets those lucky 6 drive his cars on a weekend road trip. i may not like the guy that much, but thats a bloody decent thing to do
  23. im not sure if your saying his car is a DC5 ??? if you are ... well its a DC2
