Tony
Car:L reg Mini Cooper Complaint:Pull left under acceleration. Reason:....... Look for yourself. osf (rear area) sub-frame As you can see the sub-frame had previously been repaired (badly) and had now fractured top and bottom..... To add insult we also found this... osf (front area) sub-frame. So basically under acceleration the entire osf was able to steer left.. under braking the play even pulled the drive shaft out of the engine! Despite all my warnings the car was extremely dangerous to drive the owner ignored us and drove the (wright off ) away....

Apart from the horror itself the attempted welding looked like the Himalayas and the repair is not allowed anyway even a good repair... Tony
Do garages have the right to impound cars like this and call the police? Yes but only if it's during an MOT, then a car can be deemed unfit to drive and be given a 'Red ticket'. For other repairs we can contact the Police but other then that we have no authority to stop the owner driving the car away... And he did
