liner33 Posted November 8, 2011 Report Share Posted November 8, 2011 Its a rule in motorsport , sump plugs , oil filters and oil fillers must be lockwired in place to prevent them coming loose when on track  I'm guessing K&N do this to make their filters look more racy and appeal to the modding generation , when i was racing I used cheap pattern filters since i changed them after each race anyhow and those with the spin on type usually fit a jubilee clip around the outside and secure the locking wire to that   Like the guys have done in this thread  http://www.motoforum.net/index.php?showtopic=54320 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
