89mustang
Short video of my mate leaving in his usual sedate manner from the pub. It is street legal and used. There are more videos of this car on youtube. You need the sound up loud!!!
Tony
Nice..... i liked the chap in the red T-shirt giving the car a full "kick the tyre mot" Loved the link but remember only legal, law abiding links will be allowed

magic919
I'm not sure I'd unleash it with cars moving about in my path. Can't believe it stops as quick as it goes. Sounded nice though.

89mustang
Already did that last year! http://peterdonaldson5305.fotopic.net/p53626649.html http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/showthread.php?t=15001 Hopefully the new cage will reduce chassis flex and allow the suspension to work!! What do you think, Tony?
Tony
Years ago i worked to calibrate a semi-pro funny car, my thoughts it was going to be easy were soon dashed. First up the chassis is incredibly well braced but "not totally rigid" some flex is used to absorb torque. It was this torque that was my nemesis because it's deflection is mainly into one tyre...... very observable in your images. Problem i now had was to ensure the tyres contact patches had the same working conditions i:e longitudinal traction/ lateral distortion values and sidewall uniformity during acceleration.... get this wrong the tyre steers the car into the barrier. If anyone's interested the front had very little attention since it spent most it's life up in the air.

89mustang
Andy has now got the car finished and back on the road today, maybe not the best day to go out in an overpowered, roofless, screenless car, but hey thats Andy!

89mustang
Try this with speakers on max. Sorry about video quality, it was raining as he left on a 50 mile jaunt home!
89mustang
This run trashed the rad again, so with a Corsa rad in its place Andy came out to play and ran 8.96 second quarter mile at about 156mph through the finish, with wheelie bars on! Tony
Looked like a good run...... Those bars are definitely needed.... Why didn't he have them on during that run?
